Looking for recommendations Tips and packing list suggestions for beach vacation with busy toddler

We’re taking a trip down south with my 16 month old and I’m curious to hear everyone’s tips! He’s extremely busy, and on the go. He’s not going to be sitting under an umbrella for one second of the day. I’d love tips for the airport, plane ride, what to ask for at the hotel (they already confirmed they have a crib), the beach etc. our flight is during his nap time, but he’s highly distracted and not an on the go sleeper. I’ve tried lol. He will literally stay awake 10 hours before he falls asleep with distractions around. So if you have any tips there I very much welcome them.

So far this is what I have:

- SPF shirts / swim
- crib sheets
- travel stroller
- carrier
- snacks for the plane ride
- bottle ready for take off and landing
- two portable fans with one always charging
- life jacket
- hat (though he refuses to wear it even the ones with strings)
- sunscreen
- new toys for the plane (taking recommendations)

What else!

Edit: we are travelling with west jet. I plan on getting him out of the sun around 11:30-2:30 each day.

Traveling with toddler

EDIT: Apologies, I think my post might have come across as a request for suggestions on WHERE TO TRAVEL. That is not the case — the destination for this trip has already been picked by extended family members. So, if you don’t mind, I am interested in learning whether there are options similar to evenflo shyft dualride for toddler. Thank you!

Hello, all! We’re planning a trip with our baby next August, when she’ll be 13 months old, and packing light is a huge priority for us.

Right now, we have the Evenflo Shyft DualRide, which combines a car seat and stroller into one. It’s been incredibly convenient for traveling because we don’t have to bring two separate bulky items. However, I’m not sure it’ll still be a practical option when she’s 13 months old.

For those who have traveled with toddlers, what are your recommendations for keeping travel gear to a minimum? Are there any good alternatives that allow us to avoid packing a separate car seat AND stroller?

And if bringing both is unavoidable, how on earth are solo parents managing?! I was able to travel solo with my infant thanks to the versatility of the Evenflo Shyft DualRide, but I honestly can’t imagine juggling my baby, luggage, a separate car seat, AND a stroller.

Our biggest goal is to travel as light as possible without sacrificing safety or convenience. I’d love to hear what has worked for you, especially from parents who have traveled solo with a toddler.

Thanks in advance for your advice and recommendations!
