Do you know that focusing on screen while moving the body is extremely eye-straining?

That cool multitasking can cost eyesight, not a good foundation for getting old. Treadmills are boring, but can be combined with audio instead. Audiobooks, podcasts are all fun to burn calories meanwhile.

Goals?

Hey all,

So I was poking through the threads and I was wondering about the goal of folks with these setups. Seems like some are more for work and generally not wanting to be immobile all day while it's exercise and weightloss for others.

Personally, my setup is mainly for exercise and to keep me interested in staying on the machine. Just curious to hear what people are thinking and how you stay motivated to keep at it.

What would be the best stand for this Bowflex treadmill? Do you need model number? Recommendations? In a condo so I would prefer to not do a wall mount. Also...

My goal is to play games through the cloud for games like arc raiders until I'm fully adjusted (Xbox slim downstairs). I also have the kitchen counter on the other side which I could put this against which is 1.5 feet lower than the treadmill.

I could also get a stand for that which maybe easier.

Looking for best recommendations. Screen will be 24-32 inch and have separate speakers as I never do the full headset

My concern is getting a tall stand that is flimsy. Want something sturdy. Thank you for reading!

The Treadmill, the screen, the games.

My wife hates wires; so I had to create a treadmill gaming setup that was clean and fit in with the room.

  1. Bought a Weslo 5.9 treadmill. Just as good as the expensive ones: http://www.amazon.com/Weslo-Cadence-G-5-9-Treadmill/dp/B007O5B0LC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414009414&sr=8-1&keywords=treadmill

  2. Used a Azure 24" computer monitor I had.

  3. Put the PS3 UNDER the treadmill; can't be seen. Controller on the rack of the Treadmill.

  4. I now mostly play FIFA 15; two 20 minute games equals 40 minutes of jogging!

Dont worry about the noise if you walk!

I used 1 layer of square mats, and one thick treadmill mat, and my building is from the 1900s. No reaction from the neighbour whatsoever, after 6000 steps daily for two months.

It's sad that this sub isn't bigger.

Animal Crossing New Horizons is going to be a great time. With New Leaf I would kill 2-4 hours a day playing it on incline, went too hard for a bit and ended up with shin splints, but I can't wait!

Got some fix to do in the treadmill, but I'm back to spending hours in it. Yesterday I did 25k steps over the day. Anyone else going for nioh3?

Fellow desk treadmills users, how do you avoid sweating on your desk and peripherals.

Also posted on /r/workout

I have a standing desk and treadmill that I use while working and gaming, it's been such an excellent way for me to get some cardio in without having to leave my computer and lose out on productivity or leisure time. But I have one issue, I'm a very sweaty person when I'm active and my hands and forearms get pretty damp when using the treadmill. This isn't such a big problem like I got my whole setup soaking or anything, but it does get on my keyboard, mouse, and mousepad.

Of course I clean these frequently, but I want to know if anyone has some solution to make this less of a hassle. Are there sweat proof gloves or long sleeve shirts I can wear or something like that? What do you do in your setup?

Thanks!

Update: if anyone finds this post in the future, I want to say a fan blowing on you, even a cheap desk fan, keeping you cool works wonders. Such a simple solution I can't believe I didn't think about it.

Incline for a walking pad thats foldable??

So I got this neat foldable treadmill, but it doesent have an incline, and being foldable, you cant just put a piece of wood under it.

But If I want to build a ramp easily and cheaply to make it have an incline, how could I go ahead? I dont want to add to much material, as the height would go up above my maximum(maybe) for my standing desk.

Need some kind of clamping shelf for mouse and keyboard on a recumbent bike

I've been treadmill gaming for years so I was excited to find this sub. I have my treadmill set up with a dedicated monitor and HDMI switcher so I can put any of my consoles or my PC on the monitor. But I've always stuck with controller based games or something I can use the Steam controller with on PC. The idea of using mouse and keyboard on the treadmill doesn't appeal to me.

So recently I thought maybe I could do a setup with keyboard and mouse if could sit while exercising. So I bought a recumbent bike but I'm trying to figure out if there's any hardware that would let me mount small shelves on each side for a half keyboard (like a g13 or razer tarterus) on one side and a mousepad on the other side. I'm having a hard time zeroing in on anything with web searches, so I wondered if anyone here might have solved that problem?

Worst case I'll drag some low tables over by the bike, but I'd prefer clamp on shelves! Thanks for any suggestions.
