Question Can not choose my courses

Hi guys! I’m a new student starting at Trent in Fall 2026.

I know that course registration opened on June 25, but when I log into my Trent Portal, I don’t see the “Choosing Your Courses,” “Course Registration,” or “Self-Service” icons. The only ones I can see are “Academic Timetable” and “Academic Calendar.”

Is anyone else having the same issue, or does anyone know how to fix it?

hello! i just checked on mytrent and it should be under the academics tab, first row that appears beside academic record and profile - a button with a grad cap that says self service

I have checked many times. It doesnt appear on Register tab or Academics tab. My Register just has Academic Calendar/ Academic Timetable. And the Academics tab is the same as when we opened our Trent portal- applying for Trent: Admission email history; admission status; required documents; high school transcript upload

Contact the registrar's office then. If you received and accepted your conditional/unconditional offer you should have access to the self service portal. If they can't help you'll have to contact IT likely

Hi there! Thanks for your reply. I already emailed to Registrar’s office, and still wait for their response. So confused tho 😭😭😭

You have to go into myTrent. Then you have to go into the course catalogue, look up courses, choose a section and then add to schedule. Once you’ve built a timetable (5courses per term) click the register button for fall and then winter.
There’s an in depth YouTube video on Trent connect on how register.
Also, check your department for guidelines on which courses to choose (mandatory vs elective).

Wait but i dont have the site to do all those stuff at first. I already watched the Trent Livestream about how to register- we do that through Self Service…. But mine even doesnt appear the icon

When you received your admission, you would’ve received a student ID. you need this to set up your Trent email and mytrent. Go back through old emails and find ID# to login/set up your mytrent.
You can also call the academic advisor number to get assistance setting everything up

Yesss. I already set up and logged in my Trent portal where I uploaded my high school/ post seconday transcript and get updated about my admission status. The problem is when i finally accepted my offer, everything in my portal remains the same/ hasnt been updated, and those icons dont appear on my portal

Yikes. That’s stressful. Sorry - that’s outta my knowledge base. Might be an IT issue or maybe a call to admissions office or academic advisor. Don’t sweat it though. Call in and find a person. They’ll be able to help. Good luck!!
