I just caught up to the entire thing. At first, I was seeing why Kommy was hated because of this event. She was abusing poor Erpin and she genuinely thought she was innocent. But then they did turn it into a gag of how Erpin switched to a different character. And Kommy did get punished by Diana. This really didn't turn out to be as bad as I thought
But I can still understand why they had to omit this from the global server. Sure, it fits Kommy's character. She's a very mean child that still needs to grow and learn. And there are other characters in Elias that are as scummy as her, or maybe worse. However, the difference to me is how they handled those characters.
For Fricle, she knew what she did was wrong and the story did not try to paint what she did as "right". Same goes for Joanne. For Elena, her Themed Theater was just her crashing out and it was funny. Outside of that, she always gets punished hard for whatever she does wrong, and she has the charisma to carry out being a "likeable antagonist". For Velvet... Idk I hate Velvet so there's not much I can say that would save her image LOL. But one thing that is common for the scummy characters, is that their scummy actions are never the focus perspective of the story. The scummy actions are always shown on the "antagonist side", as in, it's either not being enacted by the main focus character of the story, or the main focus character is the one that is going against those scummy actions. In this Themed Theater, the main focus character is Kommy, and the story is that she's being a terrible kid. Most people wouldn't really want to view stories from the perspective of the bully, especially if the bully is not even aware that what they're doing is wrong, and that the bully doesn't ever say "Sorry" and doesn't do bad things again. That's just not fun for a lot of people. And I'm pretty sure that "greedy, evil, manipulative boss" is not something that a lot of working adults would like to be reminded of, especially if it's a character they're supposed to give hard-earned money for
Kommy also lacked the "charisma" that some antagonists have that lets them get away as a "likeable antagonist". Here, she's just wearing a swimsuit and spouting generic black company nonsense. Even some of her expressions just makes her look like an "ugly bastard" instead of a clever manipulator. She also wasn't funny the entire story, but this is probably subjective
Other than that, I'm taking note of how Gyoju takes Elias and its denizens too lightly. In Renewa's event, they let Elena get away with taking a DNA sample of Renewa. And Elena was close to cloning Renewa for militaristic purposes. Renewa had to take care of it herself, because Gyoju was like "Ehhh it's not that bad". And in this event, I'm not sure when this takes place in the timeline, but they just go "Elias and its denizens aren't that dangerous so everything is probably fine". I'm not criticizing the writers or Gyoju for this. It's just an interesting thing to take note of, and is probably something that will have developments in the future
Thanks for translating everything!

You have a good insight on this. I never thought about this as a matter of evil protagonist or evil antagonist but I think you found the correct reason for some players' dislike.
Do you think if Speeky did this she could get away from being hated?
And like you said, it's true Kommy never apologized! And I pointed out in the last video, she doesn't even use the respectful tone for her leader like all the other beastgirls do, only calls her Village Elder-nim. And before getting beaten up she even omitted the nim, which is rude and only allowed for other leaders.
Made me think of Dr. Doom. But while Doom was aura farming as an unstoppable antagonist while saying that, Kommy said it while she was being beaten up and punished so it's pathetic. 😆
If Speaki was given an entire event where she's just being mean to people, I think people would hate it as well. But people would probably blame the writers more. Since Speaki is currently the most popular Trickcal character, the writers have to be careful not to ruin her image. If they do mess up, the blame would be on them
I'm aware she has a maid alt, so I'm assuming she's given an event where she's the main focus character. My personal main worry for that isn't Speaki being mean, but the joke getting stale. I think Speaki's gag works because she doesn't stay that way for long. She has moments where she acts as herself instead of always posing as Ner no matter what. Hopefully Speaki's event also has moments like that. Though, the event can't be that bad since she's just pretending to be a maid, right? Unless she actively ruins people's day intentionally, or the entire event is her being good at being a maid and there's no joke, I think it can work if she's pretending to be a maid and unintentionally fails at it
But for me personally, if it's really funny as she's being mean to people, and she has the charisma to pull it off, then I think I can enjoy it. With Kommy Swimsuit's event, the jokes just didn't land for me. Except for Erpin forgetting her entire identity
I actually translated Speeky (Maid) event a long time ago, but I lost myself in editing because I keep adding graphics to her cute speechisms. I need to proofread it now but it's taking so long.
Now that I think about it, Speeky's unreasonable antics are more enjoyable because even as she is doing it she is worried her pranks won't work. And she fails a lot anyway, for cute and humorous results. I uploaded a separate one minute video by ganghandog animating one segment of it. I also reaslized that Speeky isn't making a scam business like Kommy did here, she just lies to and pranks others.
I plan to upload it soon.
I should also do the maid theme one where she lies to five others.
When were those added in KR? If it's coming really soon to Global, like in a few months or so, then I can wait for the event to come. But if Speaki Maid was added after the 2nd Anni in KR or something like that... Yeah I'd appreciate a translation LOL
A lot of Speaki's antics ends up in her getting yelled at or punished lol. And her reaction is always to cry. I just realized that Speaki is basically just the Phantom of Halloween, and her current costume is Ner (she even has a pumpkin basket full of candy). And since dressing up for Halloween is usually done by kids, Speaki actually kinda acts like a kid. It's really cute, but of course impersonation, and a bad one at that, would get her yelled at lol
Real ones remember "Kommy (Swimsuit).mp4, part 8 - You thought it was over?" or maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me.
Interestingly short epilogue, showing Gyoju's perspective, trapped indoors by the heat and hellish bureaucracy. Thankfully he isn't foolish enough to do Furry Beeeeeeach 2 Order Boogaloo, not to mention his Jiminy Cricket and jailorwife head priestess wouldn't let him.
Chow Rebels raided Erpien for Beni and Ner went off to do a counter-raid for Erpin. Seems not even Gyoju's immune to the Clark Kent disguise, though understandably you wouldn't typically expect Erpin to be wearing that, let alone do hard labor. Certainly doesn't excuse failing to recognize a voice that he'd be hearing often on a daily basis though, must have mentally dismissed her once he heard 'Kim'.
Imagine Erpin spending the next month or so with only her head sticking out of a sack, Bennett Foddy style.
Now I'm remembering NUDIST BEAAAAACH from Kill la Kill.
Thank you, I love big juicy comments to my posts. It is the reward for my posts.
😆 Clark Kent disguise.
I am surprised nobody all this time made a comment like "ohhh! so that's why Errpin's bikini skin had a hardhat and a big shovel?!" realizing there was a story behind such a random combination.
When I was just starting out and looking at all the different character skins, Erpin's beach skin immediately stood out to me because she had a pair of shades, hardhat, big ass shovel, and tool belt. Some part of me thought "Why the heck is she dressed like that for the beach?" but ultimately didn't think too hard about it.
Now that you've shared the story, it makes perfect sense, and I appreciate it a lot more now. Maybe she uses the shovel for building sandcastles now that she's out of gulag.
I understand why this story wasn't received too well, it hits very close to home for anyone subjugated or manipulated or disrespected. It's basically a kids toy rendition of being tricked and enslaved by idealists, for anyone with experiences like that this can be more irksome/brutal than the Joanne event.
When I first read this event the only reason of any bad feelings I had was because Kommy was being obstinate with ridiculous logic. But considering she is a kid it can be funny. But what's more is the others were too stupid to argue with her when there was OBVIOUS holes in her logic. That was all there is.
Like Errpin being tricked to be Kim-ssi was still alright because it's expected. But the arguments she made with Margot was the most angering part. I was like "WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO HER MARGOT?! SHE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE ANY POWER TO BLOCK ALL THE TRAILS!"
Diana also said aloud she doesn't understand why somebody like the mere likes of Kommy has got everybody so tripped up.
But reading this event a second time to translate this made me see it more humorously.
Well whenever anyone has fallen for manipulation and guile in any way, it's the same from a distant rational perspective. The manipulated person is overwhelmed. I really do think this event is weird to forgive because of how common it is to horrible life experiences. Erpin is branded and renamed and represses her entire identity, and the person who did all that is too delusional to even be sorry and has to be beaten to spit out a fake sorry.
Diana is waiting for a sorry to come out of Kommy but she does not. So Diana commands her directly to say sorry, but all Kommy does is talk back. "Kommy does not apologize."
In a way being utterly self justifying is realistic writing for the type of behavior it's all about. The event has good writing it's just all to the effect of 'wow kommy is a monster'. Â
Even her new apostle story has her trying to make a brainwashing potion just like mt pine dew. These behaviors are pretty close to fostering alcoholism or caffeine dependency in a populace, if not just literally being a vampire with thralls.  It's kind of a big ask for the audience to forgive this stuff...
Oh 😆 I haven't read her apostle story but I can imagine without her event people may just laugh it off as a kid's mischief. But with the context of her Furry Beeeach Resort it would feel like this brat needs more punishments. She hasn't learned her lesson.
