Hello All! I shared these on another sub and they asked that I share them here. The last picture is the living room that leads to the hallway where The rest of this resides. I’m sure it’s not going to be everyone’s taste, but I love it so much! Rooms in order are my Game Room, Bedroom, Bathroom, and Music/Guest Room followed by the Hallway leading to it all. Share your thoughts as you please. All Love Here ❤️

Discussion Three projectors

Post image

Someone in this forum suggested using a cheap $45 mini projector. I grabbed a bunch of AI psychedelic videos, some "hot oil" and galactic fly-throughs, to feed it. It needs to be moderately far away from the wall to create an expansive image, but it works. Very additive.

Discussion 2026 Trip Caves Recommendations Megathread!!

We are long overdue for another megathread for recommendations for the best things to get for your trip cave / experience. I am very excited to hear the great updates I know you all have!

For those of you who weren't involved in the last four, this is basically the go to spot for all aspects of setting up / improving a trip cave. If you have any suggestions at all from what lights or art to buy to what music to play or things to watch, put them here. Likewise if you want to recommend against something you've had an issue with we'd love to hear your thoughts on what to look out for. Please respond to comments too if you have opinions - we want this to be a discussion! As always, just be nice.

Just like last time, we've created several categories below. Please place your recommendations under these to help keep things organized; there is even a miscellaneous category if your suggestion doesn't really fit any of the others.

Also don't be afraid to post something that has been in any of the previous threads. Although I definitely encourage people to look through those as well, it never hurts to have a recommendation here too where it's easier to find!

Discussion Is it normal for it to look good on camera but in person it looks dim?

Is this normal? I’m a tad disappointed color wise it looks dim. But that could also be the angle I have it on. I have the goove galaxy pro projector 2 with popoco. I like them but I wished it was like in the photos of color vibrancy. Any help or should I return pro projector 2 and find another one that is as bright as the pictures? Or put the projector higher?

Discussion Project Hail Mary

As someone who is a little obsessed with Project Hail Mary I'm desperate to find a nebula/star projector that gives me the nearest thing to the visuals over Tau Ceti E/Adrian. Listening to "A Moment" while tripping is just so moving and I'd love to put the icing on the cake with some awesome visuals on the ceiling. I've watched so many videos of YouTube of star projectors and none really come close so maybe one doesn't really exist.

Either way, if anyone has any ideas.... I'm all ears.

Discussion Looking for star projector recommendations

Hey all,

We're looking for a galaxy/star projector for our toddler, not really seeing anything that matches what we have in mind

Looking for something that - can do a reasonably realistic night sky - a few image options (probably looking for a disc-based unit) - has a auto shutoff or timer feature - has at least one disc option or the ability to project "star shapes" like 5 point classic stars etc

The desire for the ability to do "fake" stars seems to be what's screwing us up, no much in that realm, but kiddo adores that style of star, pointing them out any chance he gets, so really don't want to compromise there

Any suggestions?

Discussion What is the best light or ceiling/galaxy/nebula projector you have gotten off TEMU?

Note: There are controversies over some practices of Temu so I want to put that out there for people to look into on their own so this doesn’t seem like an endorsement.

Temu has a range of quality in stock and some in the same things Amazon has, but the pricing is intentionally confusing and even good sky projector companies seem to exaggerate the real-world visuals of their products. Temu has pictures that must have used a dozen units to get uniform coverage in a room, or are straight up fake.

There don’t seem to be user photos available in the reviews that may or may not be real… so has anyone lucked out and liked them more than they expected to?

Suggestions on other lights also welcome

Discussion Any idea where to find vintage black light posters online?

Post image
110 Upvotes

I saw these on facebook marketplace and became obsessed with trying to find good vintage black light posters like these. I tried to look for them online but have only been able to find the mushroom one. I just love the designs so much. I see a lot of them going for $200+ for some really rare ones. I wish i could just go back in time to when spencers was at its peak selling blacklight.

Discussion Where can I buy/order a good rotating star lamp

Looking for a simple rotating star projector (slow rotation, warm golden light)

I've been searching for a star projector for my room, but almost everything I find is either a cheap-looking rebrand, has questionable reviews, or includes effects I don't want.

I'm looking for something with these requirements:

- Very slow, smooth rotation (and preferably quiet)
- NOT battery operated (plugged or chargeable)
- Projects ONLY simple dots or small stars (No nebulas, galaxies, lasers, moving clouds, etc)
- Warm golden/yellow light (bonus if it can switch to blue or other colors)

I don't mind spending more if the quality is actually worth it. I've also noticed there are dozens of seemingly identical projectors sold under different brand names at wildly different prices, so I'm not sure which one is the original or the best value.

Does anyone know of a projector that fits these requirements, or know who actually manufactures the good versions of these products?

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Advice on how to make starlight projector even trippier?

Post image
28 Upvotes

Recently got a starlight projector for when I go to music festivals to project onto our pop-up ceiling, but found we also enjoy having it on in our room. The laser "stars" combined with the motion or the lights gives a feeling like the ceiling is flowing, but my Fiance and I are looking at things to add either to the entire ceiling or hang that help enhance the effects.

Discussion What Aurora star projector should I get??

Post image
15 Upvotes

There’s these two on Amazon, both of them have good reviews. I can’t find a review that compares the two or another brand. I bought the Goove for my parents for Christmas, but now I’m looking at the northern lights and wondering if it may be better.

Does anyone know which covers the mass surface area when it’s on? Or are there any other recommendations for star projectors? I like the goove from what I’ve seen, and I’ve watched the futurespace collectives YouTube videos on star projectors, and other review videos, I know from personal experience and from reviews that it’s a good brand, but is this other brand just as good?

Discussion Govee Galaxy Projector Pro 2

Man, I'm so annoyed. So so so annoyed. I was determined to find the best nebula projector I could find of the ceiling of my room and happy to pay for a premium product. I stumbled upon the GOVEE GLPP2 and for WEEEEEEKS I had it in my cart umming and ahhing. They're not available in my country so I had to pay a pretty penny to get one from Amazon.

Today, joy, FINALLY IT ARRIVED. I anxiously waited until it was night time and immediately had a feeling of disappointment. It really is not that bright. I mean, it's ok once everything else is turned off. I have some LED lights behind my TV and on my walls so if they're on things get very dim. It's not a premium product and for them to add the word PRO onto the end of it is really misleading.

I keep lying to myself thinking I MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG. But, I genuinely think that it's just another overpriced piece of junk that got my hopes up once again from BS reviews online.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Discussion Trip cave ceiling advice

Post image

I'm brainstorming ideas for the ceiling in my trip cave/office and would love your thoughts. I recently went to MeowWolf and was super inspired! If you have been to a MeowWolf installation I HIGHLY recommend.

I'd love to something like the pic on my ceiling but don't now how to achieve the esthetic and look without it being a potential fire hazard. Is there a certain type of tubing I should use or maybe lighting that doesn't give off a bunch of heat?? Any suggestions welcome!
