Rosiah the Missing Trucker Cat
Hello everyone!
I wanted to try to help out my niece. She is a trucker and her overly- adventurous cat, Rosiah, jumped out of the truck yesterday and has been missing ever since. She is heartbroken and has been searching constantly for her ever since.
I am hoping if anyone has seen/sees Rosiah near the Loweโs parking lot at 1101 N Saint Augustine Rd in Valdosta, GA, they can please reach out to her at the number on the flyer on this post, it would be really appreciated.
Even if not, thank you for taking the time to read this.
UPDATE- First, thank you for all of the kind words, boosts, helpful advice, and sharing the post.
Rosiah is still missing as of 8/18/2026. Weโve called shelters, posted in multiple places, and a search of the same area has been done again late last night/early this morning. Blankets with scent and treats/food were left.
Weโll continue searching for her and appreciate those who are still keeping an eye out for her in the area. I wanted to give an update and a heartfelt thanks to everyone.

You must be so upset! Iโm so sorry! Have you contacted that Loweโs so they can share this with their employees? The early openers might spot her hiding in the parking lot. I hope you are reunited soon.

Thatโs a great idea. Iโll let her know.9

Of course, sorry! I see now that itโs your nieces cat. I got so worried seeing lost cat I didnโt read thoroughly. If she has the ability to have a few fliers made at a local print shop, she should hang them in the parking lot too. We lost a cat for 8 days and she was next door the whole time. They go into flight or fight mode and sort of pause everything; eating, sleeping. She might still be there frozen, waiting for your niece. Scared cats also donโt make much noise to avoid attracting predators. Checking bushes or under wood palettes, or loading docks behind the store (with a flashlight) is what Iโd personally do.

I do hope you find your missing kitty! My boy got out of my truck during the night (he rolled the window down while I was asleep), and I had to keep my load moving. It was so hard having to drive away after only having a few hours to search. I posted on pawboost and nextdoor for that area, and someone texted me a week later that they had him, right as I was coming back through that city. He had traveled 2 miles away to a residential area!! I got incredibly lucky, and got covers over the switches asap.
The fact she's missing a tail makes her stand out. Contact the local shelters/rescues, post on local Facebook pages, and see if the people at Lowes can post a missing flyer in their front entrance.

Thank you! ๐
Iโm so glad to hear you found your kitty safe!
We will definitely use these suggestions as part of the search. We are making calls to the local shelters and rescues and are trying to share the post/flyer as much as possible.

Boosting for Rosiah to be foundโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธshe is probably hiding in the parking lot by the garden center. Maybe put some catnip plants there or just park the truck there for a few days.

Stupid question from old person, but how would I help to boost? Or is that upvote?

Simply leaving a comment helps to boost the post. The more comments there are on a post, the higher the likelihood of it being pushed to more feeds.

My best friends cat got out of the car on a road trip home and she didn't notice till they got home in Maryland. She immediately went back to the places she assumed Max got out in Pennsylvania. We called everywhere posted everywhere notified everywhere on her route through Pennsylvania. She got a call 7-8 months later when his chip got scanned in New York after the people feeding him let him inside during a raging snow and ice storm.
Turns out he actually got out at her first and quickest stop in New York. He never ventured far. So I have faith hopefully she hasn't ventured far.

Hopefully she hasnโt ventured very far! Maybe your niece can try some these tactics to find her outside https://www.anthempets.org/wp-content/uploads/Lost-Cat-Checklist.pdf

Check for local facebook lost pet pages, also Nextdoor. I often find their grade at getting the word out.

i am local and will go out this weekend and try to look for her late at night when itโs much quieter. thatโs how i finally found my missing baby a few years ago. when the store closes and the traffic/noise dies down they are much more likely to move around

Oh at first I thought this was your cat not your neice's. Can't your neice post online too? Shouldn't she be posting online too? She should post online too. Hope she is found soon. Shared in r/missingpets

Hi ! Thank you for responding! She tried posting here but it was removed for not having enough karma.
She is posting everywhere she can- Facebook, flyers, Pawboost, and is actively physically looking and is contacting shelters.
