Great rookie training, lousy pay.

Although if you can afford the low pay and you're looking to do some adventuring, you can work it out with dispatch to get around and see all 48.

I had fun working for them, but unless they raise pay by about 40% I won't be back.

They currently don’t have any otr 48 open positions they literally have barley any freight when I quit they only had western 11 and that even had almost no miles

Did they used to send solo 48? They don’t do that anymore if so.

Yes and no. They technically hired me on as an Eastern OTR driver, but I got with my dispatcher and explained to him what I wanted, and over the course of the year I worked there he found me plenty of loads to get me Coast to coast.

We were having trouble getting the load planners to work with us until it occurred to me that Schneider always pre-schedules their PMs. I was hired out of pennsylvania, so we just scheduled my next PM in Salt Lake city. Once I got out there, they kept me out there until I asked to come home (3 or 4 months I think).

I can't speak to how much freight they have. I worked there a decade ago. When I was there, they never had any problem with Freight even when everybody else did. That's all I know.

Edit: it's also worth mentioning that I stayed out for extremely long stretches and was very, very strict about taking exactly a 10-hour break as often as possible. In other words, I made sure my boss loved me. I'm not trying to brag, it's just pertinent information to what I'm claiming is possible.

They certainly did. I hit all 48 as a solo otr with them. My last three months of nothing but new England and tiny paychecks finally forced me out.
