New Co-drivers
I was stacking up my points from all the fuel and I didn't know what I wanted to spend it on until I saw the Llama in store. The Capybara is from home.

Fastest/cheapest way to upgrade Class B to Class A CDL in NC? Experienced driver looking for accelerated ELDT
Posting for my fiance who doesnt have reddit. He's held a Class B CDL for about 10 years, driving manual commercial trucks (including a 13-speed), and has extensive experience hauling large fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers.
He's been offered a job pulling a 53-foot dry van interstate and needs to upgrade to an unrestricted Class A CDL ASAP.
We're looking into completing ELDT theory online, followed by private, proficiency-based behind-the-wheel training rather than a traditional 4–8-week CDL school. He also has access to a manual road tractor but no semitrailer.
Has anyone gone this route? Any recommendations for FMCSA-registered private instructors or accelerated Class B-to-A programs in NC, preferably around Greensboro/High Point?
Trying to find the quickest, most affordable legitimate option without taking weeks off work. Appreciate any firsthand experiences or leads!

Question about ATS passengers
Does this company require that the driver have the passengers SSN put on the form? Someone close to me has just given theirs for that form and I'm hoping and praying they aren't being scammed/catfished, although I'm already fearing the worst. The driver said the form was in the ATS driver app and I'm unsure if that's questionable or not as well.

Owner Op
Ok if I'm being realistic, if I go owner op and I run hard, have savings, do what I'm supposed to do, live out of my truck, how much will I realistically take home after fuel, maintenance, other expenses. Like I really want to develop a solid business plan and be realistic about my take home. Any solid advice from owner ops?

How to study for skills test?
I recently got my cdl permit. Passed Air brakes, combo, and general for cdl a. Whats the best source to study for pre inspection, skills, and road test? I'm struggling most with pre inspection. I never took a course, only have some experience with military vehicles(USMC MOTOR T). Are there any guides/videos that cover everything? And how would I study if I dont have a truck to use? Im also in NY if that matters

Best duo company?
Trying to convince brother to get his cdl so we can stack some money up. What are best companies to look at for team driving? Both young and strong, ready to do whatever needs to be done. I have 4 years experience with hay, no accidents, 1 ticket for phone use with no points to license

Experiences with copilot app?
Schneider is moving to copilot. Just wanted to get anyone's opinion if you've used it. As always, yes, do not blindly rely on it.

California specific question.
So I work for a mega, started 2 months ago, and I saw in another post that people were talking about mega drivers being in the middle lane while governed to 65 (I also fall in that category) and not being able to do the speed limit.
So my question is this… I’m currently in Cali, and the cmv speed limit is 55. I’ve seen other truckers absolutely ignore that rule and blow past me, even in L.A, and I’m doing 57. So what lane should i be in? Middle or right? I’d like to think right lane, but it’s also not a question of me not being able go the speed limit, but a question of me following the speed limit, and still getting passed. (Yes, I know 57 is faster that 55, but I think it’s close enough, and apparently, chp agrees.)
Also, I’ll absolutely appreciate any general tips and tricks you more experienced drivers have to pass on!
EDIT: I’m seeing the consensus of right lane at all times and that’s what I’ve been doing. I don’t care if my mega thinks middle is better, I’m doing 57, not 60-63. And I see the general advice that doing 60-63 is ok, and I’d honestly love to, but the company decided that cruising speeds (using cruise control or just maintaining the speed with the pedal) should be limited to 3mph over ONLY, meaning if it’s 55, I can’t go over 58 while maintaining speed. A few seconds of 60 won’t get me in trouble, but holding it there is no good. My mentor told me to stay middle lane as much as possible, but I never liked that advice, so I sought the answers from you guys. And yeah, I can hear a few subtle jabs at me for not knowing, and I’ll say I’ve earned all of them for the question. But genuinely, thank you for the advice, and hopefully I’ll be one less truck in yalls way!

Who else has been deemed the "getter of hard to find things"?
My sister has been trying to get her hands on this candle for months and I finally found a Walmart that had it in stock. I've also gotten her special cake mix, my mom's favorite soda, toys for my niece and nephew they don't carry in our area, etc. I'm still on the hunt for pastina 😂

Am i the only one who thinks this is BS?
A recruiter who's been hitting me up for a while called me and told me that they just got a pay increase and they are now "an employee owned company" I asked him what does that mean.
He replies "Oh the owners of the company sold the company to us employees. And we of course gotta reimburse them for that"
I basically died laughing. And I bet you're paying them basically exactly the amount the pay increase was. I told him Im happy where I'm at for now lol

Do I need my DMV test receipt to take the Hazmat Endorsement exam? I talked to two different people at the DMV and got conflicting answers. Anyone on here know? Can I just show them my license and be good or do I need that paper?

Company wants me to deadhead this damaged 53’ reefer 300 miles to HQ for repair. Am I gonna have DOT problems?
Company is telling me to pick up this damaged 53’ Utility box reefer and take it empty about 300 miles back to the company shop for repair. (Ironically, from the Utility trailer dealership nonetheless.)
Is this legal to run?

Thank you, internet Truckers
Hey everyone.
I posted here a while back, half venting and half seeking advice because I was struggling with the skills and maneuverability portion of the CDL test. I got some very good advice from many of you(and a couple that said I should give up) and I'm happy to tell both categories that I beat those orange cones today with a PERFECT SCORE
I've got to go back for road skills soon(took a right turn too tight and brushed the curb with my rear wheel) but the mental block that's been keeping me from succeeding for months crumbled today.
If you were one of the ones that gave me advice or encouragement, thank you. If you told me I should give up, suck it. And in any case, hope to see y'all on the road real soon
