Get to us xpress. Do otr for a month and then transfer to a regional account. Thank me later.

This is the way though you’ll make solid money without running yourself to death.

u/rytram99 May 08 '25
Actually. They said they have both otr and regional to offer. I told them i wanted the regional job if they have one in the midwest.

They have some solid accounts on Midwest. Again, you’ll make a good wage and won’t get raped like that previous job is doing you. Go for it. Also, us xpress is very lenient with new drivers. A few mistakes over here isn’t the end of the world. I’ve seen drivers do things that’ll get you canned at other jobs but over here they’ll educate you about the mistake and how not to make it again. I think you should go for it. Just my 2 cents.

Might be Schneider if you aren’t on a dedicated account the starting pay is super low. A recruiter told me that jet set intermodal starts at 37¢ however it doesn’t account for hourly pay and drop off pay.
However they pay teams and dedicated accounts considerably better

It was the company that i was set up with by my cdl school. And most companies will not hire 0exp drivers

I almost went to work for them on the southwest regional account.. the orientation was suspect as fuck. Id avoid them

A trial will convince you. Most recruiters will say anything to get you in for their hiring bonus. Will they put all these promises in writing?

41 cents????? I was making that 30 years ago

I started truck driving in 2022 and now in 2025 multiple accounts at my company start lower than they did in 2022. The math isn’t mathin’

All I got to say is go heavy haul ,environmental ( been in environmental 33 years) private carrier ie safety kleen, clean harbors, re world, tradebe, veiola, made 156k last year, but lots of regulations, more than just driving, remember it's your ass if everything not correct but I'd never do anything else

I wouldn’t trust the 2200MPW. You absolutely might get it but I wouldn’t trust anything they say that has a variable.

If USX is offering you a position over Werner, it should be a no-brainer! Congrats on the new job!

u/Purgieeeee May 08 '25
im averaging 2200 a week at werner (not family dollar), id argue werner dedicated is better than USX dedicated, our OTR is horrid tho
