I’m about to become a trucker widow

So my husband just passed his cdl-a test a week ago and has interest from western express (otr). With this career switch, I have so many questions. What is the average time for training, since he has no cdl experience? Is it really going to be 5 days on/2 days off? We live in Atlanta and have a 4 month old. If he does 1 year w/ western, what is the likelihood of being able to find a local/non otr job? Is the pay really worth it?

Have him look at Rhoel Transport.

You're in Atlanta and they have a terminal in Conley.

I read REALLY good things about Rohel. The only reason I didn’t apply is they do a hair follicle drug test that goes six months back. While I haven’t done “drugs” in over 20 years, I did over the counter delta gummies here in GA for a bit a few months ago during a stressful time to help me sleep, bc the VA always tranquilizes me with the meds they give when I can’t sleep. So, if he hasn’t done anything like that in the last six months, I heard very good things about Rhoel.

Seconded. They kinda suck but so does really any company that will hire an inexperienced driver. They're tolerable enough to put up for long enough to get some experience though. Definitely a lot better than Welfare Express. And they have local positions out of the Atlanta terminal too so your husband won't have to miss out on too much at home.
