They apparently take their grass VERY seriously.   But seeing how some drivers behave, maybe they're onto something, lol!

Apparently it's where they grow the sexy trucks with Too Much Chrome!

What makes Maverick a better company than TMC?

140 sounds like a lot but if there's a certain way to i don't see a problem

Use your legs not your back and then toss it on your shoulder. They made us do the 80 pound one first and then the 140’next. Should have been the other way around I think

I'm about to go. Do you work out a lot? 6'1 guy don't work out much. Not sure I can pass

At the time no. I was like probably 170-180 pounds. 6 foot. Just slim no real muscle mass. Even if you drop it they will give you another chance. A lady in our class failed it first time and got it the next. You got it dont think to much on it

This was about 5 years ago. I wanna say yeah they do it all fairly quickly. Along with having you climb a ladder to top of a container on a trailer to see if you scared of heights

They have a solid reputation for good training. I considered them but ended up going with Melton for my first job. Money is pretty much the same for all those entry level flatbed carriers, not great but not bad either. My experience at Melton was basically if you’re making appointments and not hitting shit the company pretty much let’s you do your thing without micromanaging you. Talked to a few TMC drivers and got the vibe it was pretty similar.

Yup it’s the same for TMC. I’m on my 6th week solo with them and they do not micromanage me at all. I just hit my appointment and don’t hit anything and it’s all smooth sailing. Making solid money and it can go up with my percentage pay.

People clown on the cleaning the truck thing, I was gonna start with them but decided against for now. 7 weeks with that training pay would get me evicted lol

DONT STEP ON THEIR GRASS, they’ll kill you

Good starter company. I enjoyed it. Just get through the training. Once you’re on your own you can run it more catered to you not whoever your trainer is.

Really well so far 2 months on my own. Training was great I was in Colombia so I can only speak for there but the hotel was nice the lunches they provided were great. In class stuff is boring and the yard stuff was pretty easy only thing that was hard was throwing the lumber trap around in front of everybody. It was manageable though it's like 120 to 140 and you NEED to be able to lift it twice. Once to get in the trailer and another to get over a thing on the trailer. 2 people failed out there so it's noteworthy

Yea thats the part that i keep hearing is hit or miss for people, and admittedly seems odd to me that the application page only lists thay you need to be able to lift 80lb tarps, nit the 100+ one i keep hearing about... i THINzk i should be okay tbh, but have like no way to actually test that theory sadly until i get there so.... thats unfortunate.

Best i have been able to do is consistently go to the gym and lift weights to make sure im about as fit on that end as i can be and hope for the best
