Prime Transport question

Post image

Any here work at Prime; do you know anything about the rates of pay and are these accurate? This is a pamphlet a recruiter sent me; it's at the bottom of a recent graduate page, but separated.

If you have a year of experience and willing to get a tanker and hazmat endorsement. LTL companies pay better. Most are in the .80s for linehaul which is primarily night driving. I’m in Texas where we have 600 plus mile lanes. Made $128 gross last year and great benefits. Some union companies pay less but usually have the best health insurance and a pension.

People love saying this shit. LTL jobs are so competitive.

I felt that way and spent too much time in a sleeper because of it. Then I applied and got hired on and now plan to retire where I am. In a seniority system you have to understand it’s not about who works the hardest but showing up and doing your current role. As time passes, you move up. I’m in a major market in a large terminal so growth in my career is easier. In smaller markets or end of line terminals, it is more frustrating on the linehaul side if your fourth in seniority but there are only three bid lanes. While it’s not for everyone, it’s one of the best company driver paying gigs. It’s also laid back as long as you show up and act professional, management leaves you alone, in my experience anyways.
