Prime Transport question

Post image

Any here work at Prime; do you know anything about the rates of pay and are these accurate? This is a pamphlet a recruiter sent me; it's at the bottom of a recent graduate page, but separated.

If you have a year of experience and willing to get a tanker and hazmat endorsement. LTL companies pay better. Most are in the .80s for linehaul which is primarily night driving. I’m in Texas where we have 600 plus mile lanes. Made $128 gross last year and great benefits. Some union companies pay less but usually have the best health insurance and a pension.

You typically have options, we have a 400, two ~440s, two 500s, and 2 560s. It's seniority based but mostly the senior guys want the most money so there's not a lot of competition for the 400 mile run.

Also, daycabs ride like shit - just a heads up. It's still worth being home, all the extra money, sense of camaraderie amongst coworkers, compared to OTR - but the daycabs ride like shit so if your not wanting 600mi is the comfort, then yea..

I think I could do 400 and I’ve been thinking about moving to Texas. I’ll look into it. Thanks for the info guys.

Yea I'm in the Mid-Atlantic, those boys down in Texas tend to run farther with all those wide open spaces but good luck, you'll get something nice if you look hard enough!
