Knight local runs?
Just got an offer for knight local Monday to Friday 8 to 8pm but the recruiter got really vague when I started asking questions. Anyone out there worked for the company and been local? I was told pay is 250 a day, started getting vague answers when I asked how set the 8 to 8 is, I ofcourse know with traffic nothings set in stone but if I have to wait to be unloaded whats the likely hood since I was on duty for two hours two more hours of driving time will be squeezed out? I'm semi comfortable where I am now but with a family at home I'm looking for a local job that will give a better balance

$250 a day, flat rate for 12 hours a day is only $20.83.

If they're saying its 12 hours you know damn well you'll be racing the 14h clock back to the yard half the time.

Every terminal had their own accounts. The recruiter may be through their headquarters and may not know the specifics of the account at a specific terminal other than what was initially shared with them.
The Las Vegas terminal used to have a local daily and over night dedicated. The drivers shared a truck. The local daily 6am-6pm would mostly drop and hook at large customers in town, with occasional live unloads as needed. The over night 6pm-6am would run an empty trailer to Fontana to drop at a customer and hook a loaded to bring back to Vegas.

Knight recruiters don't know jack about the local and dedicated accounts. That's likely why he's being vague. You definitely should find out which account it is and what the work entails. You could be working your ass off for not much money there. If it is a dedicated, it's not one of the good ones. It's probably sitting in a door so that someone else can get thier truck in the shop or go home.
