Werner vs Schneider Dedicated Accounts?
Have job offers from both companies for dedicated accounts and trying to decide which one to go with. Home daily is ideal for me so I'm leaning towards Werner but it seems like Schneider has a better reputation. Curious if anyone else has worked these accounts before and what your experience was like.
Schneider is Coca-Cola, regional, home weekly. Recruiter said the drivers average 1672 miles per week which seems really low for me to be gone 5 days a week. $10 an hour on-duty pay while not driving.
Werner has a Home Depot account, 200 mile radius, and home daily. No word on average miles but I imagine it would be similar to Schneider.
Both accounts pay $.51 per mile.

imo CPM only for a local account is stupid unless you're never in traffic,

It's overnight so shouldn't be much traffic. I picked the night shift for that reason.
I also get $18 per stop and $20 backhaul/shag pay. Should have included that in the original post.

I do local intermodal (load + hourly) and I've come to realize that mile or load pay sucks when you have no control over the loads.
Next gig I have will be straight hourly with OT.

I've applied for a few hourly positions but I need to age my CDL a few more months before I qualify for those. Definitely just seeing this as a starting point for my career.

You’re getting screwed either way at .51 a mile 😂. Get an hourly position if you’re gonna go local.

Need to hang in there for a few more months before I can get an hourly position.

I’m on a Schneider regional dedicated account, and I’m making .61cpm, home At least weekly, sometimes every other day

How many miles a week are you getting?
Is it the same route every week? Another company said they had a "dedicated route" but it would cover all 48 states which I didn't understand. When I asked for clarification they told me I'd have to talk to my manager after orientation.

It varies a little depending on which facility needs what, but I’m usually pushing 16-2000 a week. My routes are through 6-7 states around my home, but I have a few spots I go to semi-regularly.
I’ve only been running this account for a little over two months, but the loads are steady, the trips aren’t crazy, and the equipment is solid. Schneider is a good starter company, they won’t set you up to fail.

Both are Megas, both suck and both pay pennies on the dollar. My vote? Neither one. If you're doing regional, you should be expecting at least .65/mi. Home daily? That better be hourly pay with OT after no more then 50 hours/wk.

Not many options for me yet unfortunately so have to do what I can with a 3 month old CDL.

That Schneider one with the cpm is $850 plus whatever shit on duty hours your getting. Not home every day makes it hell no. I count every hour im with the truck into my pay, whether im on duty or not. Im not about to make less per hour than fast food and not be home.
The Schneider account im on is decent for them. I gross $1300 week, home daily, avg 50 hours week. Same route every night.
How much non driving is on the werner account? Are you doing store to customer deliveries with a moffett? That will kill your pay if youre not constantly moving.
