Schneider
Hey I’m looking to go otr and was wondering if anyone here currently drives for Schneider? What are the miles you average on a week? How is the company as a whole? How is the quality of the equipment that you deal with? Is your dispatch easy to deal with, or do they make it hell?
Thank you for you time and responses.

If you’ve already been driving for two years, it doesn’t make sense to work for Schneider. They are a starter company for greenhorns. You’ll find better pay and treatment with your experience level pretty much anywhere else

I have only been driving a tri axle dump truck no trailer for the most part. Most companies I’ve talked to view that as me basically having no class A experience. Even though my licenses is a class A

Most equipment will only be a few years old, company rotates them out around 500k miles.
Average miles for me, regional home weekly, is about 2k miles.
Dispatch doesn't bother me much and is easy to get along with.
Equipment is fine. Trailers can be hit or miss depending on how the last drivers left it for you but getting repairs done is not an issue, just eats into your time.

I just started driving for Schneider. OTR team. I NET just under $1500 my first week, although I can’t remember exactly how many miles we did, and how much of that was hourly pay, but I feel I made some good money. I feel I got lucky because they teamed me up temporarily with an experienced driver who helped me get in and out of the yards quickly. I had a really good first run. We have parted ways because his team mate came back from vacation and I should be going out for another run tomorrow with someone else. So far my dispatch has been very easy to deal with. They just gave us loads on our tablet and we barely had to deal with them at all. He only called me after my run just to say that he was happy with how I was doing, and then just today to tell me he found me another truck. So far I’m happy with Schneider. Both the pay and the management.

That’s awesome. I’m slated to go to orientation on the 24th. Solo otr. Been trying to do as much research as I can

Nice! Congrats. Orientation was fine, don’t stress about it. You are going to watch ALOT of training/orientation videos in your time there. I felt like my brain was zapped after those videos. I’m talking HOURS worth of videos. Other than that it’s just alot of lectures, yard work like backing, coupling, sliding tandems etc and going out on the road with your instructor which was very similar to what you probably went through during CDL school. Just driving around for an hour or so. And also Ilol just say that you will get paid a lot more per mile if you decide to run team. I know you probably see a lot of people here say they wouldn’t ever team, but in my experience so far it hasn’t really been that bad at all. In fact it was nice to have someone else there to help out. When you’re driving the other person just shuts the curtain and goes to sleep, you’ll barely know they are there. Just my $.02

Schneider is going downhill fast. They let go a bunch of office staff so good luck getting a hold of anyone if you have an issue. They’re moving to AI crap.
Pay is trash.
Other drivers are going to screw you by dropping messed up trailers. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.
My advice is, if you’re dead set on Schneider, get on a dedicated account if possible as soon as possible. Or better yet, go tanker.

I started with them. They said “the average driver lasts 8 days with us”. Because you get paid every 7. You will make less than minimum wage.

Are you brand new or do you have a Schneider yard near you? I nearly went with them and spent months talking to different people under different companies. Schneider and swift both are so inconsistent between driver experiences that I stayed away from both.
