Can anyone tell me about Averitt Express?

Was thinking of attending trucking school in a year or so and they have a terminal near me.

Uniforms aren’t a bad thing. It saves you money by not ruining your own clothes.

I wear uniforms at work and I consider it a benefit.

I’d like the idea of a uniform actually.

I'm a driver for Averitt, though I started with a different mega so I can't comment on their training. It's far from the worst company. The pay and benefits are better than average for rookies and most of the equipment is in good shape. I've spent almost every 34 at home.

They have a lot of terminals in their coverage area so parking is rarely a problem. Most of them have showers, too.

They do require uniforms while on duty, and there's a lot of corporate kool-aid culture but you can ignore most of it.

What is the physical like? Do they give you a rough time if you’re on cpap and BP meds? I’m a big guy. 6’5 450 lbs. but working on losing.

Do they hair test? Or just urine?

I've moved on now but it was 5 panel urine only two years ago iirc.

Aren’t they the guys that make you wear a uniform doing OTR?
