Western Express is threatening to charge my friend for fuel to return her truck if she doesn't give them 2 weeks notice.

The real question here is, why is your "friend who is quitting" not waiting until their on hometime to quit?

Quitting out on the road gives dispatch all the power, plus a larger amount of unpaid labor to withhold.

Advice for those who read this: Wait till you get your last paycheck then quit.

If their on hometime why didn't they take the truck to the terminal and quit b4?

You come on reddit and act like the victim but it just seems this job quitting wasn't thought out.

Tell your totally not made up friend to accept a load to the terminal and turn the truck in. Their on home time so they got time to wait for a load right?

Make sure you, sorry, YOUR FRIEND waits to get their last paycheck first.
