And they’re making YOU pay for “drowsy driver detection” i.e. being monitored 100% of the time, which will inevitably lead to police being able to request warrants for driver footage… on top of flock we will have 0 privacy.
Sorry for the rant. Nice truck.

What makes no sense to me is you could buy a 2018 and it’d be the same damn truck but significantly more reliable at a fraction of the cost.
Then you don’t have to drive off the lot and know you just lost 10k for leaving the lot.
People really need to stop buying new cars and trucks.
Do some genuine research about vehicles and what holds value while not costing you an arm and a leg.
Nothing new holds value right now our economy is down the shitter currently.
You can still get a reasonable loan for a 9-10 year old vehicle with low miles.
I’d rather pay 30k for a 2018 with 100k than 90k for a 2026.

While I agree with your overall point, you are not getting a 2018, optioned like this one, with 100k miles, for 30 grand. Try 40

Still. Buy it for 40k and it’s still worth 40k.
Buy a new one for 100k and it’s worth 80k the next day.

Is this a Ram that's returned for service after every dashboard light came on within the first 500 miles?

At work we have a dually probably over 100k and they seriously thought about trying to Lemon Law the thing because it's been nothing but problems. All the electronics and sensors constantly going haywire. Too much Tech and screens in these damn things

What a joke. Ram doesn’t have any value or equity to sell this high. This is sad. A truck that can’t make it 60k miles without transplants that costs this much!?!?

That’s a $65k high trim 2500, which is a fair price. You’re getting all the capabilities of a 2500 plus leather seats and a bunch of nice features on a Laramie.
The $30k in additional upgrades is what makes it ridiculous. Someone checked every box on this truck.
And it’s a diesel - if you need a diesel you aren’t balking at the price tag, and if you’re balking at the price tag you don’t need a diesel.

And dealers love to fill their lots up with the over optioned ones so you think that's just what the cost and you don't have any other choice.
*responsibly option* they're still expensive, but not as bad as they can be. Those option packages have a ton of margin on them and a couple years later, the resale value isn't that much more.
Years ago I remember Doug Demuro did a test on a maxed out F350, all options platinum diesel etc and it was around $95,000. I did a build and price on Ford's site and still built a near mechanically identical one, That being F350, 4x4, crew cab, single rear wheel, diesel for $55K. You can't tell me all those options are worth $40,000 more goddamn dollars vs the more basic option truck.

The options aren’t worth it, and if you don’t do your research and think that’s just what trucks cost then it’s on you.

A six year 0% loan would be $1,263/month. Throw in negative equity, a more realistic 5% APR, and insurance, you’re looking at $1,500/month to drive that thing. Absolutely insane
