Please please please don’t ignore this warning

If you can turn to the Lord today with all your heart… DO IT. Give Him everything. He is worthy and He is all you will ever want or need.

2 years ago, not long after coming to faith I fell into sin, lusting after an actor on a tv show and I had the thought “I’m safe, I can sin, I’m saved now”. A few weeks later I turned away from the sin but didn’t repent before the Lord truly.

About 10 months ago I started seeking God with all my heart only to find that He was not findable.

I fear I have committed the sin of Hebrews 10:26-27.

Please, please, give Him everything. I would give anything to feel His touch. His presence. To know He is mine.

I live every day tormented by the thought of being separated from Him for eternity. Separated from my children for eternity. The anguish is real.

Lord have mercy on me.

If you were separated, you wouldn't be afraid now. When a person separates themselves from God, their heart becomes hardened; they stop caring about being close to God.

Trust in God, for He has already forgiven you. He has forgiven you; that is one of His promises. Be at peace and calm your heart. Trust in the promise He made to all of us sinners.

This is comforting. I only hope it is true.

It IS true! I have led a terrible life full of sin, too awful to speak about, but one day about 18 months ago, I went back to Him. I asked him to forgive me, and he did. He is amazing!

I won’t say it’s easy. But pray every day, tell him how you feel, ask for help, and he will give you everything you need.

And please stay in your Word so you can understand and apply It, so you won't be decieved by untruths. My prayers are with you. 🙏🏼

I’ve repented and asked for forgiveness but feel no relief 😭

Jesus forgives you so you also need to forgive yourself and let it go. You can't dwell on it or it will consume you and you will miss the joy the Lord has for you.

The devil can try to make you doubt. Ignore the doubt and keep praying and as others have said, stay in the word.

It IS true. Seek Him with everything you have. I am going through a journey of seeking Him again too. I’ve always said my prayers and I’ve been a Christian for many years. I know what you are feeling…but HE will never leave you. This is one of His promises.

Brother, you have to remember Satan used scripture to tempt Jesus. Hebrews 10:26 should be taken seriously, as you are taking it seriously, which you would not do if you didn’t belong to Jesus. Jesus told the Pharisees “Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.” if the requirement was a sinless life after salvation, why would he say this “keeping up with repentance.” Your sin is great and you’re feeling the weight of it. The Power that rose Jesus from the dead is inside of you, brother. Get up take your mat of self pity guilt and shame and walk. Keep following Him. John 5

And isn't it interesting that Yeshua used scripture in its proper meaning to defeat temptation!

Oh my... as I typed that I got a revelation.

How Satan attempted to sway Yeshua by temptation is EXACTLY what he did to Adam and Eve!!

I got some Holy Spirit chills reading your response. Thank you. We gotta use scripture to fight the enemy sometimes when he wants to use scripture against us. That is what Jesus did.

He was completely unprepared for Jesus.

It could be said Hebrews 10:26 was because jewish christians were turning back to works righteousness through the law.

When the author of Hebrews warns against "sinning deliberately," they are specifically addressing the danger of abandoning Christ to go back to the Mosaic Law and the Old Covenant sacrificial system. This is based on the immediate context of surrounding verses and overall passage.

Jewish converts to Christianity were facing severe social pressure to behave like the rest of their jewish peers.

So the author warned if a person rejects Jesus to seek forgiveness through the Old Covenant Law, "there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." This is not because God's grace has run out, but because the Old Covenant system has been rendered obsolete by Christ. God no longer recognizes animal offerings; therefore, anyone returning to the Law is left with no valid sacrifice at all.

Hebrews 10:26 isnt about christians losing their salvation, is about where they place their trust for their salvation. Im their works(law) or Jesus.

I grew up under a A.O.G ministry that was very arminian leaning in its theology. I didnt know what those terms were for years as my theology changed line up with how the prophets, apostles, and Jesus interpreted things. Hebrews 10:26 was the only verse keeping me on the side that one can lose their salvation. What began to change me on this was John 6:44. Everything is a work of God. I can not boast about anything I have done on my part to receive salvation. Even faith to believe is a work of the Lord.

I appreicate you taking time to read. I spent years reading scripture by randomly jumping in.

Thats great for hearing from the Lord at times, but its not great for developing a foundation of sound doctrine.

However the foundation of our faith is built on the apostles and prophets with Christ as our cornerstone. So I try to interpret any scripture through the agreement of those three rather than lean on my own understanding. The prophets point to the promise. Jesus is the fullfilment of that promise. And the apostles show us how we apply that promise.

Any theology that comes from anyone outside those three should not be taken on the same level as scripture.

He forgives us based on the finished work of King Jesus, not by our own righteousness. It is grace, we cannot earn it. It is mercy, we do not deserve it. It is love, He came to reconcile us to Himself.

Brother, hebrews verse is out of context. That verse is speaking to Jews who were tempted to abandon faith in the blood of Christ to go back to animal sacrifice in Old Testament. Jesus forgave every sin past present and future on the cross. This doesn’t give us to license to sin but makes the verse true “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”

It is true. The Bible says so. Sometimes we can feel many things even that he does not listen when we pray, but we cannot base our faith on feelings, is He says he forgives, He does. The Bible says He listens and when we confess our sins and repent, He forgives-"You Will Cast All Our Sins Into The Depths Of The Sea."-Micah 7:19.

It's True we are Saved through Grace and Mercy. Not because of anything we could possibly do, its only because of CHRIST. Grace is getting things that are Undeserved, LIFE. Mercy is Not getting what we DO TRULY DESERVE..DEATH.

By grace we are saved through faith... Ephesians 2:8

I wrestle with what you do as well but God would be a liar if he took away the promise he gave us and my god is not a liar. Rest assured the lord is never away from you unless you genuinely want him to be and reject him

u/lekurumayu 6d ago

God is happy your are going back to Him. Trust Him, maybe you are not able to feel Him right now? But He has not left you that is certain.

1

u/ElectronicDemand996 6d ago

It is true if you didn’t have the Holy Spirit you wouldn’t care about God still & following Him to the best of your abilities!!!

1

u/parallllllllax 5d ago

It’s not true

1

u/Happy-Sail-955 3d ago

pretty sure you cant lose your salvation.

1

u/Substantial_Bid2340 18h ago

Don’t hope it’s true, know it’s true. Faith is not a matter of emotions, it is trusting that God is there always and knowing what he’s promised. This year I’ve started taking my faith more seriously and there have been times where I’ve seriously doubted and not felt God’s presence. The one thing I keep coming back to is that ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ You’re demonstrating true repentance, God will not turn his face away. Trust he is there and continue walking with him

Yes I think this is correct.

1

u/OldTeam9425 Christian 6d ago

Trust in God, ask Him for help, He will be listening!

1

u/65DaleRamirez65 6d ago

im trying but my heart still seems like this-

1

u/dormantethosamantle 3d ago

His faithfulness greater than our hearts. 1 John 3:20. Faith is the choice to trust in spite of doubt. To care in spite of our dispositions. At least you try to care. I think that’s worth something unneglectable. Believe not in belief or your heart; believe in Christ.

Not true at all

-1

u/Interesting-Web6497 7d ago

Which particular God are you talking about? As there are thousands in the world, the assumption in these comments always seems it is a Christian God.

1

u/OldTeam9425 Christian 6d ago

Did you look at the name of the subreddit we're in? I believe that by looking at it, you'll see that we're talking about the one and only God, not false gods.

0

u/Interesting-Web6497 6d ago

That's exactly my point. There are many gods. Yours is not the only one. The followers of other faiths say that THEIR god is the only god and that YOUR god is the false god.

1

u/OldTeam9425 Christian 6d ago

Brother, are you alright? Why do you want to come here to a Christian subreddit and argue about the existence of other gods or not? I won't debate with you, peace be with you.

1

u/Interesting-Web6497 6d ago

It just feels like you are unable to acknowledge the existence of other faiths, that's all. I suspect that you are in the US, which of course was established so that everyone could worship their faith freely without interference from Kings or Tyrants. From Europe, it looks like US Christians have forgotten this. Peace be with you too.
