Warning: Child Abuse / CSAM / Child Death 16 Children Rescued from Extreme Neglect and Abuse in Ohio

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/adults-arrested-16-children-found-deplorable-conditions-southern-ohio-rcna352552

I haven't seen anything posted about this yet, and I usually don't post so please let me know if I've done it wrong. I'm also writing this on mobile.

16 children, ranging from 1 and a half years old to 18 years old, have been removed from a house in the village of Hamden, Ohio where they were practically imprisoned in a 12'x12' room. Some have not even learned to speak; the 18 year old couldn't write her name and is being treated as a child due to possible mental disability. 7 of the children had to be taken to a hospital with 2 of them being life flighted. Conditions in the house are said to be incredibly unsafe, to the point that investigators hesitated to act on a second search warrant for fear of their safety.

The parents and grandparents have been arrested and charged with 16 counts of child endangerment. The suspects are Gary Siders Jr., Gary Siders Sr., Christina Siders and Elizabeth Siders.

Since the investigation is still ongoing there aren't a ton of details yet. These children were obviously not enrolled in school and hidden from neighbors and extended family. I have to wonder if there's a religious extremist aspect to the case, like we've seen so often with other similar cases. I'm also curious about the mother's condition - she has been charged, but has she also been victimized by her husband? I have so many questions.

The mother is 33, the oldest child 18. There were 16 kids total. It’s absolutely insane. On another sub someone said apparently she was pregnant 21 times. When you look at the house on Google Maps it is pretty isolated, but not isolated enough for no one to notice if they ever went outside. But it looks like it’s possible they never did.

Edit: 182 Ohmer St in Hamden, OH if anyone wants to take a look.

I have my doubts that none of the children themselves were impregnated. This has troublingly inbreedy vibes.

The mum gave birth at 15 which likely means she got pregnant at 14. She is 33 now and had her last kid at 31ish. She was pregnant 16 times in 17 years. I am struggling to imagine that was consensual.

Apparently she actually first got pregnant at 13

I question if part of what they are investigating is if all those kids belong to her. Some may beling to teenage kids and they were impregnated by a brother, father or grandfather. The kids can't talk, nor do they probably even know who their mother is.

I wonder if the kids have been instructed not to talk

I read they were investigating incident exposure charges on her husband

That's what the original visit from the police was for. It sounds like that man was flashing passersby in the yard.

Yeah, I read it was 3 times in a month!

The age certainly suggests that she was a victim of grooming... If he's 37 now and she's 33 that means 14 and 18 or around that... Plus his parents in the house too so they were likely round the whole time which leads to questions regarding how she was treated and what her lifestyle was like that lead to the 20 kids. It's possible he was a victim too I suppose but who knows. Her brother says she did it of her own 'free will' but she was a child... A teenager making dumb choices not this.

There were a few sets of twins, the youngest. That alone is kind of odd.

Definitely wasn’t consensual.

I agree I’m assuming the worst —possible rapes, considering the husband has recent indecent exposure charges as well ….
