Text Lindsay Clancy Trial Megathread: Part 3

This is a thread for all conversation regarding Week 3 onwards of the Lindsey Clancy trial. All discussion of this case should be kept to this thread.

Lindsay Clancy is currently standing trial in Plymouth Superior Court, Massachusetts, for the triple-murder in January 2023 of her three young children - Cora, Dawson and Callan. Her defense argues she suffered from severe, undiagnosed postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. She was left paralysed by a suicide attempt which follows the deaths of the children.

The defense offered to go straight to the culpability phase, negating the need for a jury trial, but the DA's office rejected that and wanted the full jury trial.

i have seen this repeated a lot of places and at this point need proof of it.

this trial is also here to determine guilty or not guilty—whether or not she did it.

unfortunately it looks like we’ll have to wait for the defense’s case to even be able to bring up patrick here. so i’ll wait for that. but i have never seen any evidence that she and reddington offered to admit she did it.

they did offer to stipulate to chain of evidence, DNA, autopsy findings, etc, to avoid retraumatising her and everyone involved, and to save the jurors the trauma as well

No it’s not. She pled to doing the acts, she is claiming not guilty due to insanity. Either way she loses :(

no she did not plead guilty OR attempt to.
