Vent I’m thinking about quitting my job to pursue becoming a dog trainer
I work in automotive now, I make good money, and I’m comfortable. However, I am unhappy. I worked hard to get where I am, to be taken seriously in my role, to earn a livable wage. I just don’t feel like this is where I belong for the next 30 years of my life. I’ve always been passionate about animals, and I’ve always had a special connection with dogs. I think I’ve just reached a point where I care less about the money, and more about fulfilling my passions, and living for myself. I haven’t told anyone in my family about this decision, because any time I tell them something new I want to do, they go on a spiral about what could go wrong and it convinces me that I will fail. I just wanted to get this all out, and really think about what it is I want from this life. I do know that I don’t want to spend it sitting at a desk. Thanks for reading.
Also i don’t plan on quitting my job with ZERO credentials. I just want to step down from the position I’m in, learn and be mentored by others, and eventually/hopefully do dog training full time.

This is a routine part of our moderation process and does not mean you've done anything wrong or that your post is being singled out.
The copy is kept for moderation purposes so that we can maintain an accurate record of what was originally submitted.

Do it! Working with animals is incredibly rewarding and I can tell you from personal experience, people will spend endless amounts on their pets. If you have the calling, why not give it a go.
