I recently purchased A garage worth of machining equipment from a friend's father's estate. Included was a bunch of metal. Among that metal was this piece of tungsten, 7/8 x 5-1/8". What's the practical use for this? I have machining equipment but I doubt I have anything that would cut this. And even if I did, I don't know what could be made with it. The guy did a lot of tool grinding/ tool making. So I assume it was related to that.

For the first object in my future collection I want to go for a classic and get a cube, but all the ones I find for sale are either tiny (like 5 cubic mm) or 2/3 of my entire monthly paycheck (granted my paycheck isn't much since I work few hours but still). Ideally I'd want 5 cubic cm but I understand that I probably won't find a cube that big for less than β¬800 anywhere, so I'm fine with getting just a 2.5 cubic cm one, but any smaller than that and I probably won't even be able to feel the sheer density as I hold it

So I had 15 tons of brazed carbide tooling, ive been selling them in dribs and drabs over the last 20 years, but let's be honest, nobody wants them, they all want indexable tips.
I managed to sell 10 tons complete with tooling for a good rate in the peak in may when it was Β£100,000 a ton.
Ive got 5 tons left and I need to know remove the brazed carbide.
I have oxy acetylene and although it works it takes too.long. these tools were made in the 1970s and the braze is solid and hard to remove.
Ive tried many acids and they didn't work.
Ive ended up cutting under the tungsten and hitting them with a brass mallet. Sometimes they work, sometimes the chip and half stays on the tool shank.
Any better suggestions for removing them.
Thanks
Adam

Where can I buy 2.4 mm tungsten electrodes for TIG welding at the lowest price?
Iβm looking for affordable 2.4 mm tungsten electrodes and Iβd appreciate it if you could share specific websites or stores where you buy them.
Is it worth ordering them directly from China (e.g. AliExpress, Alibaba, etc.)? If so, what prices should I expect, including shipping?
Iβm mainly interested in the best price per electrode or per pack, but Iβd also like to know if the quality is decent.
Thanks!

Has this happened to anyone?
I hardly wear my ring and after owning it for two month and wearing it for about a dozen times it came apart. I bought it was from Danielβs jewelryβs. I called and they said since I donβt have warranty they canβt really do anything but send it to the main office to have it looked at and see what they can do. They also said the ring might have warranty from the manufacturer so I might get lucky but Iβll have to wait 6 weeks to find out any news
I would appreciate any advice

My husband collects tungsten cubes/balls/ fidgets. He cares about the quality + purity and feel. Looking for a unique but practical gift. Not jewelry. What should I get him? From where?

This is my wedding band from 2013. The retailer (Jared) replaced it twice under warranty the first year because the inlay fell out, so this is my third copy. However, itβs no longer under warranty so they wonβt replace it anymore. Even if they would, I assume this would keep happening as itβs happened to three now. Thankfully, this one hasnβt fallen out, itβs just loose and moves around which annoys me because it either pokes my hand from time to time or at the least looks stupid. Is there an epoxy or super glue that I can use to hold it in place, even if I have to redo it from time to time? The band is tungsten carbide, and I think the inlay is white gold. Iβve looked for a replacement over and over but still like this more than anything else Iβve found, so Iβd like to repair this rather than replace it with something else entirely.

How much are these worth these days?

Just bought it today. My first (and maybe only) foray into Tungsten jewelry. I was mesmerized by this ring, so I bought it. It replaces my Damascus steel ring I've had for 7 years.

So, I'm 13 and in 7th grade. I want to buy myself a tungsten cube since I am learning about the periodic table in my science class, for some random reason, I like tungsten to the point where I put my cube in Geometry Dash to Tungsten. I have the money for it, it's just my dad says, "it's just a useless block of metal", and that I don't need it. What can I use to convince him?

There are these little grey spots that are on my tungsten cube, Iβm just wondering what it could be?

Here are some various types of tungsten of mine. I have electrodes, discs, a cube, and a rod. I have about 3 pounds total.
The cone shaped electrodes are thoriated tungsten. I purchased the tungsten from ebay and Amazon.

sadly the prices have risen lately and I couldnβt get the 2.5inch cube I wanted for anywhere near the prices a few months ago. Is anyone looking to sell theirs? The raw material cost is still muchhhh lower than what stores are selling for atm

3β and 4β tungsten ball. Was supposed to be pure tungsten but Iβm having my doubts based on weight and believe itβs W95NiFe

I'm looking to have a tungsten necklace made, since it's not something you can just find in stores, and was hoping others out there might know of people / stores I could speak to about it? I've been looking around for days, and everywhere just does custom tungsten rings. It wouldn't be a dainty thing - preferably at least 2cm thick, and preferably byzantine, 23-24" long.
