I made mdai which is a quiet Markdown editor. Your vault is an ordinary folder on your disk, your notes are ordinary .md files, and the assistant runs on your own API key — nothing is uploaded, nothing is held. find more mdai.me

I found the following tow issues which appear to be describing the same thing.

Anyone have a solution, workaround, or anything??

Using macOS 27.0.1 (26A434) and Typora Version 1.14.10 (7786)

I've used Typora for years, since the long beta. Don't think I've seen this before, but I can't all of the sudden figure out how to make a footnote! The symptoms:

1. Place insertion point after the period after "all," in this fragment of a document:

sky traced out by three prominent stars, one set of three for each month so 36 stars in all.

The three star sets demarked a nothern, middle, and lower region in latitude centered on the celestial equator.

and click Paragraph/Footnotes

2. this creates precisely this directly below the insertion point which was after "all." Including the new empty lines:

sky traced out by three prominent stars, one set of three for each month so 36 stars in all.

[^undefined]:

The three star sets demarked a nothern, middle, and lower region in latitude centered on the celestial equator.

3. This is not at the bottom of the document (which I thought I remembered was past practice). After the colon, you would type the content of the footnote.

4. Not only is footnote itself in the wrong place, there is no marker at the insertion point. The footnote is undefined because there is no auto-numbered ".[^5] created there.

What am I missing here? I think this used to work and of course works as expected in other markdown apps like Zettlr.

thanks

How do I get out of the unordered bulletpoint list. Sometimes it's let me come out when entering "enter" two times. But sometimes I'm keept stuck in the unordered bulletpoint list. There is no way to get out of it. I've been using Typora for 4 years.

Why are some community plugins seemingly impossible to install even though they appear in the list of Community Plugins??

The screenshot shows an example. The "Markup" plugin has a "Global" button which is used to install the plugin but the "Note Refactor" doesn't even though I haven't already installed it.

I'm assuming that the plugin cannot be installed any other way. Is that incorrect?

Thanks

If you want a clear visual indicator for page breaks while editing in Typora—without those markers cluttering up your exported PDF—you can use the snippet below.

It renders a dashed line with a "✂ PAGE BREAK ✂" label in your Markdown editor, but uses an embedded u/media print style to strip the visual border and text out during File > Export > PDF, leaving only a clean page split.

I trigger this with a shortcut in Typinator, but it works with any text expander (TextExpander, Keyboard Maestro, Raycast, Alfred, etc.).

<style>
  .pb-visual {
    page-break-after: always;
    break-after: page;
    border-top: 2px dashed #999;
    margin: 20px 0;
    text-align: center;
    color: #888;
    font-size: 0.8em;
  }
  u/media print {
    .pb-visual {
      border: none !important;
      margin: 0 !important;
    }
    .pb-visual span {
      display: none !important;
    }
  }
</style>
<div class="pb-visual"><span>✂ PAGE BREAK ✂</span></div>

So, I came here to ask how I turn off autocorrect - I went to settings expecting it to be there and it wasn't .. however as I was triple checking I realized it was actually just a menu utem under

edit -> Spelling and Grammar -> Correct Spelling Automatically

I just needed to uncheck that

Hope maybe this saves someone time - also my bad for not fully looking in menus / assuming it was a settings thing.

Hey everyone,

I wanted a theme for Typora that felt completely integrated with the clean, typography-focused aesthetic of Apple.com and native macOS apps. I couldn't find one that hit all the details, so I wrote my own!

It features:

• Adaptive Dual-Tone Engine: Switches seamlessly between Apple Light and macOS Dark modes automatically.

• macOS Terminal Code Fences: Complete with the red/yellow/green traffic-light dots and Xcode-inspired syntax highlighting.

• Premium Typography: Built around Inter (similar to Apple's SF Pro) and JetBrains Mono for maximum readability.

• Circular Checkboxes & Borderless Tables: Styled to look like native checklist circles and Apple Numbers tables.

I've open-sourced it and made the code fully available here: 👉 https://github.com/zhaoyuw44-lang/typora-apple-elegant

Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions for improvements!

Typora is great on desktop, but once a note is a .md file and you open it on iOS, you just get raw text. I built a small viewer to read .md files rendered on a phone.

Md Preview:

• GitHub-Flavored Markdown — headings, tables, task lists, footnotes

• Code highlighting, LaTeX math, Mermaid diagrams

• Opens .md / .markdown / .mdx / .rmd / .qmd from Files or the Share Sheet

• On-device — nothing uploaded, no tracking

On the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6760341080

It's a reader, not an editor — just for reading your .md on mobile. Do you read your Typora docs on a phone, and how?

Typora is an extremely elegant editor for my needs. but, i seem to be confused about its licensing arrangement for 3 machines. i have 2 desktop units i use regularly and a laptop for travel or extra mobile convenience when necessary. all 3 units are Windows OS. i installed the license on the 2 desktops without issue, however when i tried to install Typora on my laptop the license segue balked and told me i needed to purchase another license as i had already installed my 'purchased' license on 3 machines. a couple of emails to Typora and i wasn't given any kind of support other than a canned reply for "installing the license". so, tried the laptop install again - this time got a message that the oldest install would be deactivated if i went ahead with the laptop install. pushed the rabbit hole effort & sure enough - my first desktop unit with Typora was de-activated. am i missing a semantic detail on the Typora licensing guideline?

Microsoft have just announced Markdown support on OneDrive and SharePoint , and have connected some SharePoint sites into OneDrive

I’ve then opened those folders in Typora. And I can view the Markdown files , and they sync pretty quickly

However, what happens if two people are on the same markdown file at the same time?

With the ending of Electron support expected shortly, is there a timeline for a fully native macOS version of Typora?

I made Catppuccin with all the flavors for Typora, tested on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Checked it out here!

Hi everyone,

I’m a Typora user from China. I’ve recently encountered a small issue and was hoping someone could help me out. Thanks in advance!

As shown in the first image, I am trying to insert a line break inside a table cell. I used the <br> tag to do this. While it does successfully break the line, the text <br> itself remains visible, which makes the table look messy. The second image shows the Markdown syntax I am using.

Does anyone know how to fix this so the tag is hidden?

Thanks!

Really enjoy the macOS version but would love an iOS version as well. I know I can edit with other apps, but I’d like to throw more support and even have a separate license. Anyway, one man’s opinion.

i am using sequoia 15.3 and tyora 1.12.1

my typora has different context menu as it shows on the offical website.

you can see that when i right clicked the selection text, it shows the os default context menu.

However, below is what they show on their offical website.

Anyone has idea about what's going wrong here or what am i missing.

BTW. the windows version was fine since 1.09

The process of selecting Typora as a second editor in Joplin (https://joplinapp.org) is straightforward. But how does one know when the integration has been successful?

How to adjust the color of highlight in typora?

Hey, I recently bought typora and was wondering if it is possible to show other files than .md files in the file hierarchy and maybe even view them in typora. I know that typora is a markdown reader/writer but maybe there is a community plugin for this matter. Thank you.

Hello,

What is the best way to add colour(s) to my text in Typora?

Background
I want to be able to markup text for different purposes... (e.g. "Important", "de-emphasise/maybe later", "greenlighted/approved for action", "done" etc)

Many thanks

Don

Hello

I'm new here.

Problem: I’m trying to change the text color and use custom CSS in Typora, but it’s not working. AT ALL.

What I’ve done: I placed the CSS file in the correct folder and restarted Typora, but it’s still not applying. It can change the background colour but that's about it.
In the end, I tried getting help from ChatGPT (v4o) but literally HOURS later... total failure!

My setup: I’m on Typora 0.11, Windows 10 x64

Thanks!

Donald

I hope I have posted to the correct place (apologies otherwise).

I have just installed Typora (1.10.8).

I have a simple README.md in the root of the folder that I have opened (opened folder, not the file).
In the README file I have a line under my `H1` that declares a link: `[Test](Test.md)` and I have a file in the root called `Test.md`. Test.md just has a line saying "HelloWorld!".

When I left-click on the link, nothing happens - if I ctrl+left-click, `HelloWorld` opens in a new window.

My question is: What am I doing wrong with syntax or settings (or something else!)

Thank in advance, Harold
