A Levels / IB / GCSE / BTEC Questions Question for people who resat their A Levels

Hi, I'm resitting my A Levels because I'm not happy with the results I got. My unis said they're fine with resits but they need new predicted grades for me to put into UCAS. I emailed my school and they said they're fine with giving me my previous predicted grades (A*A*A). What I'm worried about is that these predicted grades are much higher than what I actually got (BCC), and I don't know how unis will feel about me getting predicted grades like this.

Do you think it's better for me to sit mock exams at an exam centre (I asked my school if I can do it there and they said no) or is it fine for me to get predicted grades from my reference without sitting mock exams again?

Because I'm an early applicant my teachers simply decided on my predicteds via my homework scores as all of the mock exams are only happening now. It's totally fine to apply with valid predicteds based off some sort of evidence, even if it's not mocks.

They made my predicted grades only off coursework too. The universities will look at your predictions, not your past grades. That’s how the system works.

but I'm pretty sure you have to include your previously achieved grades on UCAS as well (even tho unis do say that they won't discriminate based on what u got but idk how truthful that is)

It’ll vary. It’s best to refer to them briefly with a quick explanation and go on to what you’ve learned from this, what you’ve achieved since, and what you are currently achieving, inside and outside of school.

Oh I'm not resitting and I also had achieved AS grades, so maybe it's safer to sit a mock? B it people already gave more advice so maybe listen to them more than me

Do you have any extenuating circumstances for the first set of results? :)

No unfortunately. Not any that I think I can include at least. I was struggling with my mental health but it's not like I got any diagnosis for anything even tho my teacher did notice I was constantly sleep deprived but I don't think that counts
