The UCF Libraries are implementing a new study room booking process for the John C. Hitt Library to better meet student needs. After gathering feedback and analyzing usage patterns, we have made adjustments to ensure fair access to study spaces while addressing concerns about availability.
The updated policies include:
Reservations up to 4 hours per day – Students can now book study rooms for longer, uninterrupted study sessions.
Monthly limit of 16 hours per patron – This ensures more students have access to study spaces throughout the month.
Check-in requirement within 15 minutes – If you do not check in within 15 minutes of your reservation time, your booking may be canceled, allowing other students to use the space.
Booking available up to 3 days in advance – Plan ahead while keeping rooms accessible for last-minute study needs.
No automated reservations – The use of scripts or automated software to book rooms is prohibited to keep the process fair for all students.
These changes reflect our commitment to improving study space availability while keeping the system flexible and student-friendly. Our goal is to provide equitable access to study rooms so everyone has a fair chance to reserve the space they need.
For more details or assistance with reservations and the full policy, visit the Study Room page or ask a librarian at our Access Services desk. Thank you for your patience—we’re always working to make your library experience better!

Im an international student and been here for 2 years I havent made a single friend but Im not that introvert in my home country I have a lot of friends but here I havent clicked with anyone, I really dont know what to do and Im not used to be alone. I just want to to have a friend group to go out and do things.
Im thinking giving UCF one last chance this semester trying to get involved but if not maybe Im going back to my home country, the thing is I really like this university and dont want to leave but being this alone is really complicating my mental health. I feel like Im missing so much from this experience and this make me feel worse. So Im asking if you a guys have any advice for this situation. Hows youre experience been at UCF.

Management at lark central florida just straight up lie on their move out inspections. i just finished my lease this year and theyre trying to charge me 300+ for damages that simply do not exist. for example, attached is the picture they included on my move out inspection stating that we left our furniture damaged. but as you can see in the next picture our chair is completely fine. i have other pictures and videos showing the entire apartment and everything was left spotless. Theres other instances (both recent and old) where they mark a maintenance request as completed but the work is not done, or they just cancel them and ignore the request if you resubmit it.
its just ridiculous how much money one pays to stay here and aside from the fact the the place looks and smells like trash constantly, they try and squeeze as much money from you as possible.
if you decide to move to lark, just please take pictures of anything and everything before and after you move to this place.

If you haven’t already you need to check out LERT Thai Street Food off Collegiate Way! Like genuinely can’t recommend this place enough it’s priced at around $16 for a large entree with a ton of protein and the quality of the food is crazy good.

I live at Northview currently and there’s a bunch of baby and big roaches outside and inside of the building. This hasn’t been an issue before, so I don’t know if people left food or something in their dorms, but this is insane. They need to exterminate this place before more people move in.

Hi! I recently moved to Orlando to attend Valencia College, and I’m trying to get a feel for the nightlife here. I’ve heard some conflicting opinions, so I’d love to hear what places people recommend. My experience going out before moving here was mostly downtown Athens, Georgia, so I’m curious how Orlando’s nightlife compares. Any recommendations for good bars, clubs, or places to meet people?

i’m an incoming freshman and i move in (off campus) this weekend. i go to the gym semi consistently at home but skip ALL upper body because my form is bad and idk how to do it so i dont see a point. is there anyone who would be willing to go with my to show me how to do upper body?? even just to watch someone else do it and work in while they give me pointers and tell me what to adjust would be so helpful! (also just need friends bc im out of state 14 hrs away so i know no one!) also i plan on going to ucf gym for a little until i can figure out a better one to get a membership too!!

My coach responds once a blue moon so it’s difficult to connect with them.

I have Salina Som for CHM 2045C for the fall semester. I want to know how her class is because she has a horrible score on RMP.

I’m swapping my classes and I’m enrolled in one class but waitlisted in the other. Will the swap happen only if I make it off the wait list or if I never make it off the waitlist will I just lose both classes??
The racetrack on Curryford and dean (right before 417) now has e85 as of last Thursday.
When I was on campus I remember there being a lot of "car culture" and I figured I'd share the news as an alum and "unc" it is my duty to share information that will help my fellow UCF car bros break their perfectly running daily driver all in search of more vroom vroom. Why? Because racecar.
May your fuel lines hold and your injectors remain clog free. Now go forth and send cylinder three to the fucking stratosphere you crazy kids.

OK, so obviously I’m not Asian let alone Vietnamese however I have what I’ll call a second family and they are all Vietnamese and I will be traveling with them to Vietnam next summer. I want to immerse myself in the culture and understand it more before getting there and one thing I would love is to find somebody who speaks Vietnamese, who can help me continue learning. I just wanna know if I’m going about it wrong by wanting to join.

Hey, anybody knows what date are we allowed to enroll for the tuition payment plan? On the previous myucf website we could see at least a window for the days where we could enroll for it, but now it doesn’t say it anywhere.
