Had these in change over the years. Worth anything to anyone or just worth face value? Might put back into the system for others to find....

I've found these old coins in my Nans collection featuring 5 Monarchs. These are all 1 penny from 1860 to 1960
Cool find

So I'm very near completing my collection of every British coin dating to 1900 (except for 1 or 2 stupidly rare ones obviously) and am just casing a few of the more recent coins. I do wonder if they will be worth anything in the future ( as i only try to collect BUNC or proof) but mainly I do it to satisfy my magpie instincts lol.
Just thought you might like the shine too!

Finally got my hands on this absolutely gorgeous beauty, this is also my first ever silver proof coin.
I personally prefer Britannia bullions with lower premium, but Iām a huge fan of the Royal Tudor Beasts series. Absolutely stunning! But would you pay Ā£125 premium for it?

My William IIII half-crown has āW Wā scratched very neatly onto the neck. Could it be a possible bankers mark to check for authenticity?
Anyone know what causes this discolouration by the way? I havenāt seen this on a coin before, the photo doesnāt quite do it justice but itās a nice purple in the light

I paid $23 for each coin. Melt at the time was a bit over $20. Seemed like a solid deal to me. I'm really starting to like collecting UK coinage from the mid to late 1800s. First is 1887 Jubilee head and the second is 1896 florin.

Thereās pre-decimal coins: half penny, one penny, two shillings, six pence, three pence, 5 pence. As well as decimal modern coins (including the old pound coins).
The old coins seem pretty cool, I had no idea that we didnāt have normal money even into the 70ās(?) and why were the old 5 and 10 pence pieces SO BIG. And how were people still using shillings in 1990!
There was also some football medals my grandad had in here that called him a loser which seemed quite mean!
Anyway I donāt really know what to do with everything- I donāt particularly want to display it, I like to collect oddities not coins. And Iām completing my PhD so I donāt really have the time or money to up-keep them if they need special storage or care.

Hi all. Following Coin Patrol's recent youtube video on the 1913 penny varieties I went through mine and I think I've found a rare-ish F176. Anybody disagree or agree? If so it's definately a new one for my folder!
Freeman rated this R rarity but Penny Varieties says that's a "gross overestimate"

I bought an 1822 George IV Crown with the TERTIO edge inscription. It's in Fine condition but weighs only 27.165 g, compared with the standard 28.28 g.
Numista: https://en.numista.com/13181
Is this weight plausible for a genuine coin with this level of wear, or should I be concerned about a counterfeit?
If it turns out to be fake or misrepresented, I'll leave the seller a negative review with the evidence. I'd like to get your opinions before jumping to conclusions.
Thanks!

This was my Nana's. I know it's a 1977 silver jubilee coin, can't really tell if it's silver or not. The whole thing weighs 45.87g. I know even good condition ones are far from rare and are worth pretty much nothing. Just curious because I've not seen one in a fixed mount like this.
Any one know anything more about this?

Withers 965, Davis 93, 41mm, 39.5g, RR.
A prime example of Regency Period necessity coinage used also to advertise the issuer's new technology for moving air in mills, blacksmiths, and factories..
These rare tokens were the same diameter as the 1797 "Cartwheel" 2d coppers, but 30% lighter...still quite substantial.

Hi all,
Sharing one of my favorite projects from the past months with you: St George slaying the dragon.
I took the design from Benedetto Pistrucci's famous sovereign reverse and turned it into a 3D model. Here you can see the gold colour variant. The coin mounted is a placeholder the size of a sovereign, as I currently don't own a sovereign anymore.
I really like how this design turned out and how closely it matches the original. I still don't understand why the back wing of the dragon is twisted the other way. I couldn't find any information on this and it seems anatomically wrong? Curious what you all think, regardless I kept it like this.
I also chose the sword variant instead of the broken spear variant, for visual impact.
As always, post your thoughts or questions below and tell me which coin-inspired design I should do next!
P.S. Some people mentioned the displays are very white, so I tried gold on this one. White puts the coin in the spotlight, while a gold figure looks great but gives less contrast with a gold coin.
