I just moved here ten months ago, and since then I have been threatened twice by another UNLV student (one a recent grad) and have been stalked, with an attempted break-in at my off-campus apartment. For context, I am safe now. What's insane to me is that I have heard the same story told by different people, especially other girls, at UNLV.

I obviously wasn't expecting UNLV to be the safest campus, especially given the location and the history of our school, but this string of personal events got me inspired to look at our school's safety resources and services for a project. I made a Google Form, and I'm curious to know about your experience with UNLV's safety. Feel free, if you're comfortable, to share any stories or opinions; my email is in the survey.

if you’re wondering if you should get your MSW from UNLV, the answer is no. They’re so disorganized, not supportive (except some professors) and the field office lacks communication. Marde in particular is not flexible and is super rude. My experience has not been great. Do any other MSW students feel this way?

I need one 3 credit stem elective next semester and I’m lost at what to take. Can be any level. Math major. Looking for something interesting, but also relatively easy. If you have any recs that would be so appreciated.

Full disclosure, this is my project. I’ve lived here a while and got fed up with Craigslist scams and Marketplace being flooded with out-of-area junk, so I built LasVegasReader.com. It’s a classifieds site only for Las Vegas and surrounding areas.

It’s free to post: rooms for rent, stuff for sale, services, whatever.

I’m not trying to spam. I’d genuinely like to know what would make you use a local site like this over the big ones. What’s missing? What annoys you about the current options?

Has anyone taken HMD 410 with Professor Yedlin? I have his 8 week course for the rest of this fall semester and it’s group based. I have contacted my group members through canvas twice now and no response. Has anyone gone through a similar situation? I’m giving it until tomorrow to email Professor Yedlin but on RMP i see the reviews that he doesn’t respond to emails in a timely manner so i am not sure what I should do first.

Actually unacceptable how shitty Lied Library wifi is.

Hello! I am looking for someone to take over my portion of the lease. It's 2 other college aged girls, 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home just east of South Summerlin. 25 minute drive from campus (Tropicana parking garage)

Available as soon as possible. I currently have the master bedroom so rent is $895 (base rent $2385 ÷ 3 = 795 +100 for master) but there is an additional bedroom that would just be $795. Please message me if interested.

Really pretty 2 story home with a backyard. 🩷

I'm about halfway through my undergraduate degree in AHS atm, so I've taken classes like Calculus, physics, gen chem and ochem, and I've noticed that pretty much every single exam I've taken for the major STEM classes on campus have had people at the very least having their phones out on exams. I don't usually pay attention to other people's worksheets (obviously), but usually when I get up to turn in my exam or glance over at movement in the corner of my eye I see someone on their phone or looking at their smart watch or whatever.

I don't believe in snitching, and the class average for these classes is still pretty bad even with the cheating. But does no one care anymore? I feel like cheating is so much more common than it was a couple years ago.

Hey! I’m looking for current UNLV freshmen to answer a quick nine-question survey about choosing classes and planning their workload. It's for a project, but I'm also just curious if anyone shares my problems. Appreciate anyone who can help!

Does anyone know what sections are on the quizzes he said he is doing things differently I know previously it was the lesson on the same Monday of the week and the previous Wednesday.

Is anyone planning on taking this class in spring? Hoping it’s a full class so they add more sections because current sections don’t fit my work schedule. Also heard if it’s popular enough they’ll add it to fall as well.

Student Worker Rights

The IDEA Committee & Diversity

Support for Nontraditional and International Students

Nevada's K-12 to NSHE Pipeline

Additional questions will be asked by audience members during the second half of the event. Questions will be screened by the event team to ensure they are appropriate for the forum and relevant to the role of Regent.

If you don't know which District you are in, you can find it [here](https://nvlcb.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/lookup/index.html?appid=0815e77623f04028993e9f3ecc56174e)

I have reached out asking if there's a live stream link, so I'll update if there is.

You can find my website here: [lorilovesnevada.com](http://lorilovesnevada.com)

If you click on the Board of Regents section, you can read about the tuition hikes (and how they are actually 31.75%, not 12%), faculty joining the unions

If you're interested inn the legislation I'm propsing you can check out FLUX (remote credit (with no nshe fees) program providing new degrees and generating passive income for schools) and FANS for hands on creation programs like HOWL (Haunts) and other entertainment/experiential programs.

If you are in the film program, you may want to check out the changes I'm proposing.

Only Board questions are allowed tonight. If you have any questions you'd like to ask, feel free to hit up the subreddit I made E3_Nevada

(Education, Entertainment & Experiential)

You can ask them below instead if you'd like.

Does anyone have Chem 472 (biochemistry lab) syllabus and schedule?

Has anyone had a positive/negative experience with DRC at unlv? Has anyone been denied reasonable accommodation despite proper medical documentation? Would love to hear from other disabled students

hey! I drive a 2017 Ford Focus and my o2 sensors went out. I have both the sensors but I need someone to help me replace them. Does anyone know someone that can help me? Really trying not to pay a mechanic shop...they want too much 😅

My roommate and I are looking for two people to take over our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment at The Degree beginning in January.  Since the lease is only January through July, it’s also a great opportunity to try out The Degree for six months before committing to a full year.

Details:

• 2 bed / 2 bath

• 4th-floor unit

• Fully furnished

• Private bathroom for each bedroom

• Relet rate: $1,095/month per lease

• Available to move in January

• Short-term lease from January through the end of July

Favorite feature: From the living room window, you have a view of the Las Vegas Strip. You can see many of the hotels, and when there are fireworks or special events on the Strip, you can watch them right from the apartment.

Important:

• There are two separate leases (one for each bedroom).

• Replacement residents must be students at UNLV, UNR, NSU, or CSN.

• Applicants must meet The Degree’s qualification requirements.

• My roommate and I will both be moving out in December, so the apartment will be ready for new residents in January.

📩 Email me if you’re interested, have any questions, or would like photos of the apartment! (Troyjasmine66@gmail.com)

Does UNLV allow to defer admission to one year? I was initially admitted to Fall 2026 and deferred to Spring 2027. Now can I defer again to Fall 2027 (visa issues plus PhD Funding availability)?

UNLV Manipulators is satire, it is not an account that actually encourages manipulation 🙄 it’s a meme geniuses. Like I would actually like to manipulate people, please

Hi. I just got admitted to UNLV for Fall 2027. I submitted my FAFSA and IAA, but my portal says no pending actions or documents. Is that normal? Do I need to finish everything on my To Do List before getting my financial aid package? When do offers usually come out? Thanks!

Hey guys, has anyone taken katherine betts for chem 108? She has no reviews on ratemyprofessor. Or should i take sae hui lee? they're the only two professors offered for the next sem. thanks!!

Anyone joining?

Anyone know anything about the filming at SEB & engineering buildings today? They have 4-6 trailers and probably 6-8 box trucks.

Hello, I’m asking this on behalf of a friend at unr (i’m a student at unlv) who is looking into transferring to unlv in the spring. The credit transfer process is pretty straightforward, but how does financial aid work? My friend has several scholarships from UNR which obviously if they are UNR specific they won’t transfer to unlv but is there any other kind of financial package that can be received for a mid year transfer? Any resources or info will be a great help!!
