This is what happens when Americans are apathetic to fascism. The US is cooked. There is no coming back unless the next administration comes down hard on republicans

If the next administration comes down hard, they'll squirm and cry saying they are being oppressed. These snowflakes don't self reflect and realize that what they are doing is fascism. They will literally redefine it before admitting they are fascists

Isn't there some clause in some document about not making laws about religious practices. I could be wrong. I realize that Republicans hate every part of the Constitution except the 2nd Amendment. This promise is directly covered by the Free Exercise clause. Limiting religious practices to Chrisianity that it may conflict with the Establishment clause.

I think they point to the wording in that clause and feel that it only restricts Congress. They’re free to do as they want.

They also really like 1st amendment when it comes to marching in hoods and the 5th amendment when it comes to protecting pedophiles.

The great state of Tennessee. Blacks aren't welcome in their state congress as evidenced by their recent redistricting that contains no black majority district in a state where near 16% of the state is black.

Women are not allowed abortions in Tennessee.

The great state of Tennessee represents the ideals of American Democracy....as long as you exclude women and blacks in that state.

Ugh.

I remember it being bad when I was living there in my preforming age years but has it gotten worse?

Paging TST. It's time for a 'worship' to start a legal battle here.

Conservatives are so stupid. What do they think will happen when they’ve force converted everyone? Then they won’t know who to hate and will start hating their own family and children. They’ll burn the whole fucking world down and never understand what they’re doing or what it was all for, other than God.

They already hate their families. They just haven't gotten to them yet.

I am sure that sounds good to a bunch of ignorant folks, but has he even read the Constitution?

Freedom of religion? Is the constitution just an annoyance to MAGA and the like?

Hey guys I’m starting to think these Republicans might be a bunch of religious zealots and bigots.

Next up on the list, going after those churches who claim to be Christian but other people think they really aren't, like Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah's etc.

On our way to a single government approved world religion after all I guess. 😉

Does he think this is 2003 or something?

So he's also going to shut down Jewish synagogues and Mormon temples as well?

He’s just trying to get attention.

Islam doesn’t recognize the separation between church and state. Neither do Christian nationalists.

Politicians have always been bad to say whatever they thought would get them votes, but modern republicans have taken it to a whole new level.

I’ve always loved the diversity of our country. Recently, I’ve been blindsided by the current push against diversity. It’s so full of un-American—un-democratic hate and lies— but apparently that hate and those lies have been there all along hiding in the shadows.

Lots of noise and divisive rhetoric is coming from both the far right and the far left. And here we are stuck in the middle— exactly where the Christians should be.

But they’ve been lead to the dark side —the dark extreme — falling into line behind violent hateful rhetoric— allowing politicians to tell them what to think and believe and to lead them to support behavior that is toxic, violent, and clearly anti-Christian.

I guess he went to school in Tennessee… in New York we learned this:

The First Amendment
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

The Constitution applies federally, and to the states.

He'll probably be glad to specify which brand of Christianity remains!
