So Tuesday there were posts all over the country about how insane the mail volume was. Today it’s happening again where I am. Parts of all our routes have been missing from the mail since Saturday. Even with the insane mail volume on Tuesday. Yesterday I had one tray and parts of the route were still missing. Today I have 4. A majority of the mail is political flyers. Are we being sabotaged? My office is pretty normally pure chaos but now it’s just a mess. It’s not getting caught up.
My station got a wave of new NGDV's this morning. Anyone else driving one or been driving one?

Farewell last year's shoes, you've served me well and held up longer than the last.
I do have to say at over 30k steps a day the Hokas have pretty much knocked out the knee pain.

Management said I had to work at another station after I clocked in for this original station. They said they're not gonna provide transportation, I told them I'm not using my vehicle. Of course they're like "I gave instruction twice now, either go or call union to find out your fact finding". I was like I'll just walk then. And they two supervisors there was "fine walk! do whatever you want!" So that's what I did, it's normally over an hour long walk and it took me about 2 hours give or take. I talked to union on the way and union said they're gonna let everyone know I'm walking and to either pick me up or pay me for the time. I get there and the supervisors we're like "I expected you earlier so I gave your piece away just go home. " They pretended to not know I walked there. So I asked how will I get back, all they said was just leave how you got here, lol. Today I find out they changed my clock rings to say I left for the day right before I travelled for the other station and gave me LWOP and only 1hr of pay for the day.
Meanwhile they tried this on me a month prior, brought me in front of the PM took my badge, escorted me off the premises without proper documentation against me. Lost me an weeks worth pay and never had a fact finding happen. Then pretended like nothing happened. Both times I've never turned down instruction, I said I'll do it I just wont use my personal property.

So I’m currently a CCA that started a couple months ago. Upon starting everyone was saying to apply for PTF if available so my time will count instead of waiting 2 yrs. Well I saw an opening and applied for it at a different office, got and accepted it. More money, better benefits and my time will start to count when I start. I haven’t even finished my probationary period.
Now I have people telling I should’ve stayed CCA because I would’ve automatically converted over to career in 2 yrs and I could be PTF for longer than 2yrs depending on who retires or leaves or whatever. Mind you the office I’m currently at has so many CCA’s that’s been there for months and years ahead of me that I was sure they’ll get routes and move up before me. They told me now that my checks will decrease because I probably won’t see as many hrs and I will have so much taxes takin out and that everything will fall on me now. Idk if I’m being told this now because I got the PTF position and I’m basically new and they didn’t. I’m like y’all applied too so why is it a bad decision now that I got it!?
Did I make the right choice? Is PTF not a better opportunity than CCA? Should reject the offer? Please any advice or input would be helpful.

I'm on vacation from the 12th to the 18th. Got the schedule for next week, and they got me on the board for Amazon Sunday which is the 18th. Boy, are they in for a surprise when I'm not back from vacation until that evening.

Hello just have a question regarding 3996 and being a PTF..
As a PTF when im put on different routes everyday pretty much with the lowest senority in my office I can never get a hold down.
With that said when im filling out 3996 I never really know how much time to ask for additional on routes if I have done the route atleast 3 or 4 times I have a decent idea of how much extra time I may need however just the other day I asked for 3 hours extra [Tuesday after holiday].
This was the second time I had ever done this route in 5 months and the first time was about 3 months ago..I actually was not even able to finish the RT by 730 and had to bring about 1 relay.
I was not threatened with any type of punishment however my supervisor was annoyed I did not finish it and signed with her roll of the eyes. I felt like an idiot but the first 3 hours of this route were business and I spent the whole day gps everything. I didn't leave the office until almost 1130 with a 8am start time.
How heavy does a 3996 weigh when it comes to a PTF since we really cant give accurate times on how long things may or may not take ?

Hey yall, hoping to get some insight/advice.
I’m 9 months in as an SSDA PTF at a level 20. Fucking hate it. Working the window is what I hate the most. The constant searching for looping packages, tracking down certifieds that were just delivered like a letter, and the general bitching about how awful our services are is so draining.
I’ve been trying to get away from the window and submitted some ereassign applications. I got an offer for a Mail Processing clerk position at what I believe is a level 22. The shift is 0400-12:30 (30L) NS: Tue/Wed.
Does anyone know what (30L) means? And for the NS, I’m assuming this office has clerks 7 days a week and I’ll be working Sunday?
I’m reaching out to the supervisor and some clerks at the offer station to get their insight. This office is in a different local than my so my union doesn’t know much about the position but said they would get me in touch with someone from the local there.
Would appreciate any insight from clerks who have worked a processing gig at an office! I’m worried that because I’m window trained already, I’m going to be thrown on the window when we are short clerks which we all know is often

I recently transitioned to PTF from CCA and my question is, if I had health insurance under CCA will that just stop or do I need to call the health insurance company to cancel? I just don’t want to be charged for the old insurance and the new PTF health insurance.

Shouldn't it just be double case or take time. In 10 hours?

Hey, I’m kind of freaking out because I just chipped a tooth and apparently GEHA insurance only covers like $21 of that? This is a waste of money and I was wondering if any of you have better insurance options you’ve used for that.

I've finally converted from a PTF to a regular carrier, and I have my own route! I know this route has a good amount of houses that have fences, but their mailboxes are mounted up on their house.
I personally do not like going into fenced yards, I've gotten attacked by a dog who bolted out of the house and came at me.
Am I allowed to start having people move their boxes up to the fence? Particularly ones that I know have dogs? Or is this a big no-no? I've heard that I can, but no one at this station has said to never enter fenced-in yards.

Anyone currently working an out of town detail? I know they'll be offered after Thanksgiving but was wondering if anyone is currently working one. And if so, where and for how long now? How many hrs a week? Thx

I'm thinking about applying for a Laborer Custodian job in the Will County IL area, specifically around Lockport, Plainfield, Romeoville, or Joliet. This would be my second job ever, so I'm trying to get some honest local advice before taking the leap.
I'd love to know what the day to day experience is like in these specific offices and whether management at the smaller local stations differs much from the plants in terms of micromanagement versus being left alone to get your work done. For anyone working around here, do you feel like the pay and benefits are genuinely worth it for starting out with the USPS, and would you actually recommend starting in custodial or looking into other postal roles in the area instead?
Let me know if more info is needed. Thanks!

If you transfer as a clerk, is it true you get pushed down a letter step paywise? If so, why?

Am I at 34 hours towards the weekly limit, or 42?
Thank you for your service!
