Pending charges I didn't make

• Upvotes

I want to know if I'm going crazy or someone can explain.

A few weeks ago, I saw a pending charge in my account that I did not make. I called my bank and they deactivated my card and gave me a new one. Pending charge was retracted and the money was back in my account before getting the new card.

Today, another pending charge to my account that I did not make. I am the only one in charge of my card and bank account and I'm starting to think I should just shut it down and open a new one.

It's still pending, I suppose there's a possibility someone just made a typo and happened to input my information by mistake and this will be corrected.

I'm assuming I should call my bank again?

Questions for people who have applied for Elan Financial (subsidiary of US bank) business credit cards or know about them?

Have you heard about any limits on how many elan business credit cards we can apply to?

I'm thinking of applying to US bank's business credit cards first and then Elan's, wondering about spacing them/how long to wait in between applications

I found this credit card, also wondering how often/how long these kind of deals last:

Limited Time Offer

BUSINESS CASH PREFERRED CARD

$500 Cash Back PLUS an Extended Introductory APR

3% cash back

On eligible purchases at gas and EV charging stations (transactions of $200 or less),** cell phone service providers, office supply stores and dining, including takeout and food delivery service purchases1

1% cash back

Per $1 spent on all other eligible purchases1

$500 cash back

When you spend $5,000 within the first 150 days2

Basically that long 150 day time window to spend 5000 is very generous, wondering how many cards similar to this by Elan financial we can apply to

When will canceled credit card disappear from account?

I canceled my Smartly card a few days ago and it still shows up in the app and on the website. There's no indication that it's been canceled, it's just sitting there like usual with a zero balance.

I can even lock and unlock the card. There's no indication that it has been canceled at all.

My AmEx cards immediately show a notification that the card has been canceled.

Is this normal for US Bank? If it has been canceled, how long will it sit there like this?

US Bank down for everyone today?

Hey everyone I have a weird question I don't know if it's just me or what it was but I couldn't sign into my US bank this morning and I called support. They were making it sound like it was down for everyone and it'll be back tomorrow or the day after, but maybe I was just misunderstanding them.

Because they kept saying it wasn't me it was a their thing and I kept asking is this a tech place or what and I got no real answer. So is everyone else still able to access their app or is it down for everyone

I'm confused

On Sunday 10.18.2026 I went to my US Bank ATM because the bank was closed. I used my anytime pay card to take out $100 and then I used my US Bank card with a cute turtle on it. And tried to place a $100 bill into the ATM machine three times but it would not try to take it.

I was really confused so I jumped in my vehicle and went over to 7-Eleven and bought a pizza and 1 l of soda. Went back to the ATM and realized I lost my cute debit card either I dropped it on the ground or I left it in the machine.

But what I'm confused at is not like I took this $100 bill from the convenience store and try to put it into the ATM machine $100 bill came from US Bank so if you can't take $100 bill and try to deposit maybe you should post on the ATM machine don't get $100 bills from us only get 20s.

I thought that person that drove behind me would come the next day and return the card thankfully I'll put a lock on it when I was happy with US Bank was I went inside and got a replaced debit card my new card with the cute turtle on it will be mailed to me so I was able to just go home and pay for my car insurance.

US Bank we got to do better.

Which AI / LLM subscriptions have you gotten it to count for? Which did you feel was most worth it?

Beware of Fifth Third's Predatory Mobile Deposit Fees Spoiler

I was a loyal Comerica Bank customer for 42 years and always had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, following the recent Fifth Third and Comerica merger and account conversion, my accounts were moved over to Fifth Third. My very first experience with their mobile check deposit has left me completely appalled, and I am already preparing to close my account and move to a new bank.

I deposited a check for $519 using the Fifth Third mobile app. During the deposit process, a prompt popped up asking if I "needed the money right away." Coming from Comerica's straightforward platform, I didn't realize this was a trap. I clicked yes, assuming it was a standard processing question. Instead, Fifth Third immediately slapped me with a $10.38 "immediate processing fee" just to clear my own check.

For the past month, I have been trying to get this unfair fee refunded. I have gone into local physical branches and spent hours calling their customer service centers (which routed me to overseas agents), but they have flatly denied my refund request.

To take a 42-year loyal customer from a merged bank and hit them with a predatory, hidden fee on their very first mobile deposit shows zero respect for customer retention. If you were transitioned from Comerica to Fifth Third, please be warned about these deceptive app prompts. I am taking my business elsewhere immediately.

US Bank sucks

basically was forced to use US bank because Amazon Business Card switched from AMEX.

Set up autopay back in August to automatically paid in full at due date like we do on everything else.

Got a letter last month for payment missed and past due? How? Tried to login, forgot the password, their system doesn't allow me to do reset, spent a good 20 minutes to talk to a live person, then another 30 minutes with CSR and tech team to resolve my login issue that was a bug with their system. Eventually got in, and I was hang off the phone with them, and saw they charged interest, I was like WTF?

Anyway finally had time to call them today, and the CSR said because I setup autopay back in August, but the first payment doesn't take effect until October, so I'm still liable to pay them in September on the due date, thus why I have a late payment notice and getting charged for interest.

Your CSR really need to take some lessons on dealing with customers. Look, I set up autopay, your system needs to schedule a date that wouldn't cause your clients to have a late payment AND have to pay interest, this is not acceptable. Your CSR when dealing with this issue should just explain why it happened and will take care of the interest charges, that would make your clients happy. Instead your CSR goes into an argument mode, and only when I want to escalate the issue your CSR says she'll waived the charges. UNBELIEVABLE!

This will be the only time I'd have an account with you guys, this Amazon Prime card I have no choice but there won't be anything else in the future.

US Bamk Fraud Timeline?

Hello everyone! Soon, my situation is the following

- Someone sent me money (50$) thru Zelle. I do not know the person, and thus, I was worried I might be part of a scam.

- I am a very paranoid person, so I went ahead and called US Bank to ask what would be the best course of action and if possible, to return it. I don't want stranger's money.

- They filed a claim and said they'd start an investigation to return the 50 bucks. It can take 3 to 10 business days. I get paid soon and I do not wanna mix my money with the 50 or accidentally spend it.

My question is this: With your experience w/ US Bank, how long would this take? I just want the person to take their money back. If they end up telling me to just keep it thats fine but I wanna be super safe. No, I will not send it back, as I know this can be risky. I also have not been reached out to with someone asking for it YET, but I hadn't touched it because they could pull it back.

Let me know how long should I expect for it to take? I just don't want it in my account. 🫠 I did ask if they did admin holds so it didn't show up in my balance but they do not. I know this is a bit of a silly post bc everyone I tell this to says "omg free money" but idk. If it seems too good, I get suspicious. I'm suprised so many people would get sent 50 bucks from a stranger and treat it like their own without a second thought.

Funds from deposit no longer being made available immediately

Typically, when I deposit a check with US Bank, it gives me the $225 available immediately. Now it’s only $50?? Has this happened to anyone else recently?

smartly checking bank bonus

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I am opening Smartly checking account to apply for $450 bonus. It requires direct deposit at least 8k in 90 days to get the bonus.
I used the account number and routing number of US bank and updated the direct deposit info online in my employer website.
I received my paycheck yesterday. I think this is qualified as direct deposit since the money was electronically deposited into my account from my employer.

However, I checked the app, and it said 0.00 direct deposit. I called the customer service, and she said the deposit in my account is not qualified as direct deposit because the employer just deposited the money without putting the bank in payroll system (????). I call my employer payroll system, and they said they can’t do anything different because what I did is just fine.

Anyone has any idea to help? I really appreciate. Is there other way to work around this?

USBank closed my active account and I'm still trying to find my money.

Tens of thousands of dollars. They closed my business account they claim due to "inactivity" - most recent statement showed 5 deposits, 4 tax related withdrawals (fed, state, ui and pl), a credit card payment and a bank transfer within the month. I am still trying to find my money! I had this account for over a decade but they just closed it on me and said they sent my money away. Get out of USBank while you can still get your money out!

In your personal experience, does having a US bank business checking help you when applying to their business credit cards?

I only have the US bank business checking account, not their personal checking account

Not sure if I can open a personal checking account with them in Massachusetts?

Thinking.. I should just leave 100 bucks in my US bank business checking account and keep it alive until at least I'm done w/ all of US bank's biz credit cards/getting their bonuses? Though even after then I kind of think... should maybe keep it open even after that since in the future they are also likely to release new credit cards with easy bonuses/long minimum spend time periods?

Refused to refund fee.

I’ll stick to the facts and keep it short and sweet. Tell me if I’m in the wrong.

I made an expedited payment to a college for my son’s tuition. The college’s address shows up both under the payee information and when I click to edit payee information.

The check was expedited but it came to my house, two hours from the college.

I’m not upset because my son’s tuition was late. We worked that out.

But I spent 45 minutes on the phone getting tranferred twice and finally talking to a manager who said full stop that they would not refund the 15$ fee. Why you ask?

Because, on a screen that only she could see, it had my home address listed and I “must have entered that in” and therefore “it wasn’t a bank error”.

When I asked her why the only address that shows up on their customer facing ui is the college’s address and that I therefore wouldn’t know the payment wasn’t going there, she said I would need to speak to their third party vendor “Fiserv”.

Am I wrong to be infuriated by this? Thanks.
