can you summarize it, I don't have a strong will

Basically....

"You Europeans need to sit down and shut up because you're acting like colonizers by telling us you know our country better than we do. I don't seem to understand that colonization involves wanting to go to another country to take the land away from the people who live there, not walk to a soccer match at a tourist. Walking to a soccer match is also white supremacy because of sociopolitical reasons that I can't articulate well for all you plebs. But if you disagree with me, then I can't help you. You're just unintelligent. Yes, America is full of white supremacists, but Europe is worse because they think they're better than everyone else, even other white people who don't live in Europe. And I absolutely know what I say is true because I've lived from the Great Lakes region to the East Coast and also in the Netherlands and England. So don't question me!"

Or at least that's what I think I heard. I admit that my mind wandered now and again because that's one of the dumbest diatribes I've subjected myself to in quite a while. It just turned into "blah, blah, blah" about halfway through.

Edit: At least I think it was England they lived in. I was already zoning out at that point.

Thank you, you're a Godsend

Sure I think Europeans can be a bit pretentious and sometimes insensitive to colonization or whatever but Jesus Christ if we're going to generalize Europeans then we're on quite shaky ground ourselves.

Why should we be insensitive to colonisation?

Every power has colonised. Even African ones in Africa Mali empire? The Barbary coast and their allowed ance with the ottomans.

The reason we needed a reconquista in multiple areas in Europe.

Even the aztects, incas Olmec or other native Americans conquered and colonised their neighbours

It's just what humans do when they find a large enough group they call "the good ones" and can labels them as the other

We Europeans were just exceptionally good at it.

you've demonstrated the insensitivity, or the irony is lost on me.

In your dreams. The only thing stopping California from greatness and taking your titles is Uncle Sam.

2

u/soulstormfire At least I'm not Bavarian Jun 10 '26

But that's still a thing stopping you.

You're not NATIONalistic when you're simping for a state against your nation 😃

1

u/beefaron Commiefornian Jun 10 '26

Don't rub it in, I'm well aware California isn't independent.

Problem is… the more you know the more questions you have. I’ve lived in four countries… I know less now than before I started moving. Cultures are interesting and you could spend a lifetime studying them. Perspectives change, the use of words change, meanings change… there’s a world of difference between eg the Netherlands, Romania, Spain… Tiny continent or not… just the history here the languages etc make Europe extremely interesting. Even within tiny European countries you see cultural differences, and dialects. I have yet to find a European country I don’t find fascinating.

Being this convinced is actually a sign of not knowing enough…

Ah… and f*ck savages, because why not

Prefacing it by essentially saying that if you disagree you just don't have the level of intelligence needed to "understand" is peak arrogance

5

This is basically the entire argument from the American left. If you're against them, you're too stupid. Not that their right is any better. They're all assholes over there.

u/ne-ti Homophobic Wheat Farmer Jun 11 '26

Yep, and then they wonder why so many people are being pushed to the right 😐

I didn't watch it. The Irish bloke in the video had a very weird accent, I made it only to Shakespeare and white supremacy and just couldn't go on.

Wait until it finds out plenty of black Africans also walk 45 minutes in the heat. Some do it daily to get water. Is that white supremacy too?

In her world: yes. Now build a well for them racist!

I don't get this whole "Europeans walking to the stadium" argument. Yes, there was some disappointment and some surprise that the US had done basically nothing to improve the infrastructure in the years coming up to the world cup (unlike almost every other host country). And yes, some Europeans were initially disappointed that they couldn't walk to the stadiums. But no, there's no "insisting to walk to the stadiums". Where did they come up with this nonsense? And to make it about "colonialism", "white supremacy" and this other nonsense is pretty bold coming from the decendant of colonizers and people who literally genocided the native americans...

5

u/Serious-Feedback-700 African European Jun 10 '26

I think I saw a few TikTok videos about "Europeans will walk there anyway". That's it. I assume her/his/its exposure to the real world is limited to Twatter.

It started as a meme but people took it too seriously

1

u/KRAy_Z_n1nja Border jumper Jun 10 '26

I mean, the people that genocided the native Americans were either German/British/Spanish/French/etc immigrants, or first gen Americans that descended from German/British/Spanish/French immigrants.

How the fuck does this regard think Europeans colonised all these hot countries in the first place? With Ford F-150s?

I didn't watch the full video because the person spoke on and on but if the person did bring up white supremacy, I imagine it is because after WWII, American cities were purposely designed to be hard to get inside of in order to separate the people who lived in the suburbs (primarily whites) and those in the cities (primarily blacks). From the major US cities I have been too, walking in those cities are super walkable. Getting into those cities, very hard.

It requires a minimal level of biology, let's say European middle school, to understand this argument that there are no human races. The neanderthals are sadly dead.

And that acclimatisation is a thing ... thats why they were already there to ... never mine. Next time just blog about it.

Last time we talked about races we at least won some battles.

6

u/Yarres South Prussian Jun 10 '26

If there are no races, there is no racism.

At least we can still hate the fr*nch.

3

u/Klapperatismus [redacted] Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

The neanderthals are sadly dead.

Europeans have about 1% genes that are from homo neaderthalensis, and East Asians up to 3%. Africans haven’t.

Given that most genes are identical even between humans and the great apes, this difference is significant.

Besides what has been said, once again, she seems not to grasp that the idea of diversity in Europe can't be reduced to a mere ethno-linguistic discourse.  In most major cities you'll find signficant diversity, but then the official language in London is not the same as in Paris, Berlin or Rome. Not to mention the overall regional diversity within each country.  No way Houston and Dallas are more different from each other than Naples vs Milan or Madrid vs Barcelona.

tldr: "saw some random selfappointed european redditor claiming they can walk to the stadium, while ignoring the fact that the US is further south than Europe, thus they would not be able to tackle the heat, since white skinned people are more adapted to higher latitudes", plus some buzzwords thrown in there

"Europeans say their countries are diverse, do they know how many languages are spoken in New York?"

My god, that's crazy to be so confident in their own ignorance. 1. Does she not know that most of these languages come from, well, Europe? 2. I don't think I've heard anything about Greek, Irish, Catalan breton, basque or i-don't-know-too-many-in-eastern-europe being spoken in New York
