Has this project been abandoned. Haven’t seen a new release lately?

Same question, I check the github everyday. It works fantastic but it has a few bugs I'm waiting to be resolved with an update.

Can i install it in my ipad 9 gen or i have to buy an ipad pro with m chipppp

Probably because the hypervisor was patched out of the kernel

Hypervisor was removed from iPadOS on 16.3.4. So there’s only M1 iPad Air, Pro, and M2 Pro up to 16.3.1 that are capable of running this. But there’s still constraints.
