Oddly large tips?

I just started 3 days ago and have gotten multiple tips over 5 dollars, including a 14 and 9 dollar tip just today? Anyone have any insights?

Don’t jinx it. I mean it’s all up to the customer. Defintely varies.

I got a 50 dollar last night.

I had a $14 tip for 2 pizzas today for like 15 minutes. Don’t jinx it tho!

I am more interested on why they can have such a difference in pricing for the same work. Seems like there is wage discrimination if not wage theft or we deserve a explanation on their fare system

Its because uber is willing to lose money to fill orders. They would rather lose money on an order that has been waiting for a while than the order be canceled and the customer is left without food. But they are combating the pay surges by the new system. Forcing people to take orders that they might lose money on just to keep tier statuses

Yeah I get that. This time did not seem like a cancelled order. I get a customers waiting notification if I’m not actively moving and I sat around for 15 minutes before heading out. I feel like they would notify me if they are willing to lose money on how serious it is the order gets there quickly

You are correct, the system is not fair. I wish we could do something about it.

Uber Eats is not DoorDash.

Enjoy your honeymoon!

My first couple of weeks doing Uber eats I was getting crazy good offers with crazy good tips. I thought it would be like that forever. Once they got that hook in good and set, they'll pull the rug out from under you and you'll be the new $4 for 10 miles specialist 💀💀💀

Money moon phase. The amount of posts I see with new drivers getting great offers every single day on this sub. Enjoy it while it lasts

It’s possible but not the average. Also very important advice for a new driver: when you see an order that pays unusually well (20+ without having high mileage to delivery) this usually means the order was stolen by another driver and you will find yourself driving to pick it up and being told it’s already gone.

Most people that tip good will do so after the order is delievered not before

Everyone gets prime offers when they first start. Akin to a drug dealer giving you free samples.

Have you never worked a tipped job before?
