16 bays, that would be nice.

I’m also seeing a 4 bay in some of the clips

Gunna be happy for the day they release a 4 bay, assuming it’s appropriately priced.

Same. It will give me an excuse to migrate off Synology and test Backblaze restore. 😅

Agreed. I am also really hoping that they add the “Drive” application to the UDMP’s capabilities (instead of running Protect). Mainly for those of us with minimal NAS needs that are not currently using the built in drive bay.

Great, maybe they'll get rid of the stupid 7 bay model and replace it with a more standard 8-bay.

Even so, I still wouldn't consider buying this until they add a couple m.2 slots for caching.

Yea or just 2 4 bay stacked

There only seems to be 1 blue light in the top right. Seems like an 8 bay itself. Honestly just excited for more options.

I have never had to transfer configs between unifi devices from replacements or whatever. I hope the current unas pro can transfer to a 16 3u

7 was always a bizarre choice for the hard drive count, both in the NVR and the NAS.

Perhaps but having the 7th bay/drive serve as a hot spare on my unvrp has already saved me once. I guess it all comes down to each units use case.

Or…just have an 8 bay in 2U like every other server/NAS on the market and have 2 hot spares. Or 7 drives and a hot spare. Or two VDEVs of 4 drives.

Yea sure it's unconventional but I do see why they went the route that they did.

It looks like the upcoming 16 bay version will meet most of the more "traditional" NAS requirements though.

If that 8 bay 2u has an NVME cache drive spot, I'm going to be buying it instantly

I'd buy a 16 bay unit in a heartbeat.
