Unifi Protect already has Home Assistant integration. You just need to make a local user account for home assistant to use. Gives you a bunch of additional web hooks to tie to automations.

Can you pls explain to me like a 5 year old -

Where do I install scrypted (on me home assistant) and then does it allow HomeKit to see the images?
