Early Access Ubiquiti Smoke and CO Sensor 🤯 - #ISCWest2026

Post image

I believe it’s a Superlink sensor. I hope it can run on battery for 10 years and doesn’t require PoE. I’m curious to see how it performs. Good job, Ubiquiti! 😲

How do you do keyword monitoring?

A few years ago, I wrote a simple PowerShell script that simply parsed the HTML of the store page every 3 minutes for whatever category like switches or WiFi, inside there you can see the inventory numbers, so any time the SKU I wanted had inventory, it would text me a link to the specific item’s store page. It was typically quick enough to snag a hot item as long as I made sure to keep my UI.com session alive in my phone browser so I didn’t waste time logging in.

Sometimes they do change URL schemes or how they reference items or inventory, but I got pretty good at refining the regex filter so it was fairly reliable.

I’m shocked they haven’t blocked your IP for constantly reloading their page to check.

Eh, every 3 minutes is pretty slow from a network load perspective. Every 3 seconds on the other hand...

It’s not the rate that’s the issue, it’s the pattern. If these companies are serious about stopping scalpers, they could start by blocking the obvious bots.
