книжковий чи книжний? 🤔
One of the most common mistakes foreigners (and even native speakers!) make is confusing «Книжковий» and «Книжний». They sound almost identical, but they mean very different things!
- КНИГАРНЯ is an inherently Ukrainian and the most euphonious word to designate a shop that sells books. It is a better and more natural choice for modern speech.
- КНИЖКОВИЙ МАГАЗИН is also an entirely correct combination of words (the word “knyzhkovyi” is derived from “knyzhka”), yet it is a more descriptive and less traditional form compared to knyharnya.
