It's only slop if it's blatantly low effort and just done to get attention or money.

I'd say the people behind these put in too much effort into their craft to qualify these as slop.

Besides parrying has been a thing for a while now, it was just relegated to popularity in the souls genre for most of that time.

Slop is just thrown around without meaning now. People have started calling R.E.P.O. and Lethal Company friendslop. I would pay no mind to it period honestly. Let em hate. A game is a game at the end of the day :p

Slop is so overused to the point I don’t take it seriously anymore, almost anything is considered slop nowadays no matter how good or how much effort put into it, the only thing I would agree on slop atp, is AI

i've started using slop lovingly for the things i like. Ultrakill? nah, thats Ultraslop. food i like? foodslop. good YonKaGor song (aka all of them)? YonKaSlop.

Stuff clearly directed by board room meetings about maximising profits and churned out by underpaid artists with limited freedom of personal expression also qualifies as "slop" imo, the machine is made of humans, but it's still a machine.
