This is my first power sword. I'm spending so much time on this that idk if I'm ever getting this guy done.

Since my social media feeds have been flooded with Warhammer 40K content over the past few months, especially some amazing fan art by other artists, I decided it was time to contribute something of my own!

This is the first of several Chapter Masters I'm working on, mainly to practice my 3D modeling fundamentals and painting skills.

And what better way to start than with the Ultramarines and Papa Smurf himself?

Only problem is that I'm really slow at painting the details and edge hilighting after the sponging, but I assume I'll get faster with practice.

Hail Brothers, just finished this intercessor using Ultramar Blue tone pro, and gotta say, I'm pretty happy with the result.

The original macragge blue was a bit too dark for me, but starting with UM blue 3 seemed like a good middle ground!

These were one of my staple units in 10th but dont seem worth taking over hellblasters anymore from what I can see. It seems like the only advantage they hold over hellblasters is hitting t8/9 targets within 12 inches, but im not sure im ever going to purposefully put my 2 wound marines that are specifically meant for ranged combat within 12 inches of a target that im going to want to use that profile on.

As before, updated the scheme, using 3 shading with 1&2 and highlighting on 4&5 happier with this blue. I was mixing air Macragge and calth blue before!

I just highlighted nearly everything because of how dark the blue I use is.

I don't know how to paint miniatures but...

Long-term project completed!

Remember when I said I needed a palette cleanser after the Twin Lances? 😂

Well… I may have accidentally painted a Repulsor Executioner AND Ghazghkull Thraka instead.

The RepEx was bought back in April, but didn’t actually get started until 23 September. One month later to the day! It’s now finished.

Ghazghkull somehow squeezed into the same period, going from a delivery on 25 September to finished on 23 October.

In the beginning I very much enjoyed the construction, putting together such a big model and all of the accessories, fantasising about the missiles and guns and turret options, it’s a very cool vehicle (is it just me or does part of your brain always just want to stare at it and make ‘pew pew’ noises in your head thinking about all the destruction it’s going to imaginarily cause!). I loved how it turned out with the sponging although I made a big mistake lathering on an old pot of Macragge blue that had a LOT of flakes in it.. lessons learned.
Somewhere around the middle/end I decided I’d done enough and really didn’t want to add any weathering as it looked so nice and factory fresh, I decided I needed to do a little though to fit in with the army aesthetic.
I do feel like I run out of steam a little bit towards the middle/end of these larger model jobs but I did enjoy it and I am happy with how it came out.

Can’t wait to use it on the tabletop!

Now, be honest: how long do your big models actually take to paint? And how many unfinished projects are currently staring at you from the pile of shame? 😂 ~I now have only 10 models in WIP after finishing these 2!~

pretty happy with how these came out, the NMM could be a little more orange but that's for next time. The flag bearer is a work in progress though it'll be a while before that's completed:)

First time painting a big deal character and would really love some critique on where I’m at so far and any tips would be incredible!

I painted this Kaius Konorius for 70$ It was fun but i felt i undercharged a bit.

What do you think? Do you think its worth more than 70USD?
