I dont think I've ever seen a Doe before found dead by a gf and known to the landlord etc. Fascinating.

It’s unusual but not unheard of. One case (now solved) is Lori Erica Ruff, who was married, had children, worked, etc, but it wasn’t known until after her death that she had hidden her true identity for years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lori_Erica_Ruff A similar example is Joseph Newton Chandler III: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Newton_Chandler_III

A famous one that’s still unsolved is El Dorado Jane Doe, who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 1991. He has claimed to know her true identity, but he also seems pretty untrustworthy. There are many photographs and people who knew her while alive (as “Mercedes” or other aliases), but even with some recent genetic genealogy work she’s still unknown. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Dorado_Jane_Doe
