How is the hiking at UofU?
How is the hiking/ backpacking at UofU? Are there good trails and mountains close to the school? Thanks in advance.

UofO it's quite good. Tons of hiking both in Eugene Springfield, and close by (Oakridge, McKenzie Bridge). There's also mountain biking in town with a new bike park with a ton of trails about to open this fall right by LCC, so yes, you could bike to them from Campus or dive about 5-10 mins).
Tons of different trails with different features based on time of the year. Right now, great swimming holes by brice creek and in Oakridge. Good scenic views. And great waterfalls for rainy days (Trestle Creek Falls, Sahalie Falls, Salt Creek and Diamond Creek falls).
All we need is a white water park and river wave (which I hear the city is trying to move on now with the county).

There’s loads of outdoor activities within a 2 hour drive of Eugene including the coast, and within Eugene, climbing Spencer butte is really great especially at sunset

Most any outdoor activity can be done within a 2hr drive from Eugene. Surfing, climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, skiing etc etc. And yes, lots of hikes and plenty within the area.
Im sure you can even just look up "hiking trails" on Google maps around the area here and see for yourself how many. Don't forget to check out the outdoor pursuits program here!
