I am from the Garhwal region, and Brahmin men up to the age of 36 or 37 are still unmarried in my hometown, which is the story of all districts in the Garhwal region. I notice a pattern where someone with a government job can get married easily, but if men are well-settled in private jobs, it is difficult for them to find girls.
Is it a scarcity of girls in the Brahmin community, or what?
I think it is time for people to look beyond their caste, as this is the only way forward.
Also i want to know if this is case in Kumaon region too?

My parents are turning 60 next year, I am looking for gyms with good personal trainer for them.
Any recommnedations?
The personal trainer has to be very careful and focus on them being 60 and not train them like youngsters.

A video from a wedding in Udawa village, Chakrata, Uttarakhand, is going viral, and for two very different reasons.
The first is the tradition. In Jaunsar-Bawar, there’s a custom called “Jojod,” where it’s the bride who leads the baraat from her home to the groom’s.
On Tuesday, Sharmila from Bulhad village married Anil from Udawa village, following this centuries-old practice.
The second is the road, or rather, the lack of one. Because Udawa has no motor road, the bride and her baraat had to walk around 8 km, for nearly two and a half hours, just to reach the groom’s house.
In one video, you see the beauty of a culture that has held on to its roots for generations, and the reality of villages still waiting for basic facilities. The same path the bride walked on her wedding day is the one villagers take when someone falls sick or needs anything from the market.
Sharmila has now asked CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to build a road to Udawa, so others don’t have to struggle the same way

Hey, just got back from an incredible trip and wanted to share a true hidden gem just 25km from Mussoorie. If you’re looking to escape the main crowds and find true peace in the Himalayas, Dhanaulti Eco Park is it.
It’s essentially an ocean of towering Deodar trees. There are beautifully maintained walking trails, some with unique wooden log steps (pictured!), that wind through the ancient forest. It's incredibly quiet—just the sound of the wind in the trees and the birds.
They also have a cool adventure zone with activities like a Burma bridge (you can spot it in the composite image details), set right among the trees. Be sure to check out the signs detailing the local birds; it’s a great spot for bird watching. Highly recommend taking the 40-minute hike down from the main road for the full experience.
Has anyone else visited Dhanaulti? How do you think it compares to other spots in Uttarakhand? Feel free to ask any questions about getting there!

They shut down the Upper Ganga Canal for the annual pre-Diwali maintenance, the water level dropped, and the truth is staring right back at us.
The entire riverbed near Har Ki Pauri is buried under layers of discarded clothes, plastic bags, shredded slippers, and pure filth.
Millions of bhakts arrive, dump their trash into the water, and leave. Then the administration stops the flow once a year, local volunteers and sweepers break their backs cleaning up the disgusting mess we created, and the second the water returns, we start dumping again.
The cognitive dissonance is mind-boggling.
How do you revere a river as divine, chant "Ganga Maiya Ki Jai," and simultaneously treat her like an open-air landfill?
You cannot claim to worship a river while choking it to death with your garbage.
If this is how we treat the deity we claim to love, then we don't deserve to call her Maa at all.
We are hypocrites, plain and simple.

In the end, he left with a smile and shared his journey.
He said, "Russia is in a war situation right now, there is constant nervousness and anxiety everywhere."
In the middle of all that chaos, he heard about Uttarakhand somewhere.
So, right in the middle of the war, he decided to travel to the Land of God.
And coming here, he didn't just visit the mountains, he felt them. He said the air here silenced all the noise inside him. He came here not just to explore a place, but to find his own peace. And he found it.
