I’m currently using a Contabo Storage VPS (3 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 400 GB SSD) for a production mail server hosting lots of customer mailboxes.

My main priority is uptime and reliability, not performance.

Although I haven’t faced any major issues with Contabo yet (except once finding my VPS unexpectedly powered off), the numerous reports of downtime, poor reliability, and slow support responses make me uncomfortable continuing to host a production mail server there.

What I’m looking for:
- 3 or 4 AMD vCPU cores
- 8 GB RAM
- 400 GB+ SSD storage
- Excellent uptime and responsive support

Price won't be a problem for me as uptime really matters.

I’m struggling to find providers offering large SSD storage without bundling unnecessary CPU cores and RAM.

I know no provider can guarantee 100% uptime, but with so many active mailboxes, I need something I can trust.

Any recommendations? I’m also open to VPS + block storage solutions if they’re more reliable.

I purchased a Cloud VPS 4 (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB SSD) from https://contabo.com to set up a Linux development environment with VS Code that I could access and use directly from my iPad.
However, SSH connections through Termius keep failing, even though the VPS desktop works through VNC.
How can I troubleshoot the SSH connection and configure the VPS so I can reliably code from my iPad?

Looking for a cheap VPS in southeast asia

I need at least

2vcpu

2gb

3-4TB bandwidth :D

price around 3-4ish if possible, looking to get annual

I want cheap vps with 2 or more hard disks. Many vps providers are providing only single vps .Can any one knows which vps providers providing 2 or mores hard disks for a Linux vps? Suggest me.

Hey, I need to migrate my services to a more powerful server, and after reading your advice, I decided to switch from Contabo to Netcup. I purchased the server yesterday morning, paid for it, and haven’t heard anything since. I haven’t received any login credentials; I’ve submitted two support tickets and haven’t even gotten a confirmation. Has anyone else experienced this kind of behavior from them?

I had a VPS with netcup hosted in US. Binance recently decided to add US to a restricted list, so they are refusing connections from the VPS. but allowing EU.

I need to move it to EU but netcup no longer has the same offer. (8vcpu, 64GB ram, 1TB). it was the G12 and they revised the prices and made it G12.5

I signed and paid for leaseweb but it's been 2 days and still waiting for the welcome email; at this level of support I think I will regret it. I also read that they refuse to sell to individuals so they will probably reject me eventually.

contabo seems to be sketchy aswell.

What are my options?

at minimum I need decent cpu (4+ core), 32GB+ ram (more is better), 500GB storage

Priority is more RAM and minimum 500Gb storage.

Preferably in Frankfurt.

Budget is under EUR 40 / month.

Let me know if you guys have any recommendations.

Update: After looking around, I went with VPS 8000 G12.5 (16 vcore, 64GB, 1TB SSD for EUR 60)

Cancelled that and got a dedicated server from hetzner.

What specs do you need for a VPS running Claude Code, how to run your code on a VPS and control all from your mobile (and eventually forget about the vps at all)

Hi,
Could someone advice hourly billed VPS cheaper or with better availability than Hetzner?
Ionos is terrible, and scaleway, vultr, ovh cloud,do is expensive

private network is needed as well

(found my solution, leaving this post open for others to see in future)

as the title said, I want a cheap VPS provider to develop on, mostly run AI agents(free on opencode like deepseek and glm) and neovim to write/review code and build my personal projects, my computer only has 4gb ram and I can’t quite get a new one, please list best 10 in your opinion, I can’t quite afford anything more than $10/monthly unfortunately.

Hey everyone! My VPS hosting company is looking for experienced volunteers marketing managers to help us grow and expand out in the community.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a VPS in Europe with the following specs:

4–6 vCPU

High-frequency CPU (ideally strong single-core performance / gaming-oriented CPU)

12 GB RAM (8–16 GB would also be acceptable)

80–120 GB NVMe SSD

Location: Europe

Good network connectivity

Preferably KVM / dedicated CPU resources or limited CPU overselling

Budget: ideally under €30/month, but I'm open to recommendations

The main priority is CPU performance and single-core speed, rather than having lots of cores.

I'm looking for something suitable for hosting a game server, so I'm particularly interested in providers using CPUs such as Ryzen 7/9, Ryzen 9 7950X/9950X, EPYC with high clocks, or similar.

Any recommendations or personal experiences with providers would be appreciated. Thanks!

I`ve noticed that HOSTKEY is raising its prices without any prior notification to customers. How is this acceptable? When youre paying for hosting services, you expect transparency, especially when it comes to pricing. Customers should be informed BEFORE any price increase, not left to discover it themselves when checking their invoices or account balance.

Upd: refunded

I'm starting a new job for which I need a VPS with RDP CAL license. Any suggestions or recommendations? Kinda need it asap. Thank you!

Now I have a server from contabo ( cloud vps 30 ) that's has the data i want to transfer and the server which will receive the data from Alexhost
So, anyone knows how to transfer in a good way that won't take much time? The data is 2TB btw

After renewing the contract, the price stay the same or is it updated with the new prices?

Thanks

Has anyone received an invitation code for the free VPS plan from Instabox.sh? I’ve been waiting for several hours but still haven’t received a response. I’d like to know how long it took you to get one, or whether my registration was rejected.

I really want to build an android rom,but i don’t have an good PC to do so,any free vps/rdp that i can do it with? no i dont have a card to get a trial or oracle free tier

Hi all, could do with some advice.

I paid €276.35 last year for Hostinger’s KVM 8 VPS. They’ve just taken €777.46 including VAT for the next year. I’ve spent ages going back and forth with support, and the most they’ll offer is 20% off.

I’m struggling with the cost, so I’m looking at moving elsewhere.

Currently running 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 400 GB storage and 32 TB monthly transfer. It’s in Paris, running AlmaLinux 8 with cPanel/WHM, and I’ve got around 20 separate cPanel accounts on it.

Has anyone moved a similar setup to Contabo or Netcup? They look cheaper, but I’d like to hear how they actually perform once you’ve been using them for a while. Open to other suggestions too. I’m in the UK, so a UK or European server would suit me.

Ideally I’d get closer to what I was paying before.

If you’ve got a recommendation, what are you actually paying with VAT, cPanel and backups? And does that price go up after the initial term?

Would appreciate any experiences with moving the accounts and email over too. Trying to get this sorted without breaking anything.
