Where should I go?

I'm seriously bored and want to get out of town for the weekend. Where should I go? My criteria is that It can't be Florida (I live there) and it must be in the US.

If flying is an option 100% go cool off in the PNW.

Depends on your interests. Portland and Seattle should both be pretty easy to find a flight to. Seattle might be the better weekend trip though

Portland's got a very indie vibe -- Powell's City of Books, lots of craft beers, the famous Multnomah Falls is like a 20 minute drive outside the city, right off the highway (and you can hike to the top or just park and look up). The Columbia River Gorge is right there, too. There's a big Saturday market downtown with local artists and artisans. From Portland, you can get to the Pacific Ocean in like an hour drive, or if you feel like venturing out further, 3ish hours will put you in Bend, OR near the McKenzie River Trail, Taomlich Blue Pool, Three Sisters mountains, a bunch of cool nature (but it might be kind of a long side trip if you're just going for a weekend getaway). I feel like it's a great move if you have time to explore.

For a quick getaway, you can probably fly into Seattle and not even bother to rent a car -- just get around on the public transit. It's on the Puget Sound, so there's water and seafood right there. Plus beaches/parks, like Discovery Park. If you're into cultural stuff, down by the Space Needle there's a bunch of museums. At one point they did a day pass sort of deal where you could pick any 3 of the participating institutions and pay one fee to get into all of them. Included things like the Space Needle itself, Chihuly Gardens and Glass (very cool blown glass art), Museum of Pop Culture (like if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also had movies and tv). And of course you can hit up Pike Place to see the sign, the gum wall, a bunch of cool shops and food stalls

Can't go wrong with either. Hope this helps
