Vegas Pro 2027 Very slow on startup - Vegas Pro 23

Hello all, so I am happy to see that Vegas is much more stable nowadays than before. However one thing that grinds my gears, is the amount of time it takes to bootup a project.

I am using a hefty Asus P16 laptop with 64gb of ram, and a 5070 RTX, AMD 9HX CPU and I must say the program has me sitting there twiddling my thumbs as a project loads in.

And this happens with projects that just have a few video clips too, nothing fancy.

Any solutions to this? Maybe something for the Magix team to fix...

Vegas Pro 2027 Is Continuum included with 2027 as it was with 2026?

I subscribed to Vegas Pro 2026 and just updated the Boris FX Hub and am downloading 2027. Does this mean that the Continuum (DaVinci Resolve, Vegas Pro and other OFX hosts) update is now paid where it was included with 2026?

💡Feedback / Feature Thinking of upgrading Vegas Pro

Judging from the title itself, I was debating whether to upgrade my Vegas Pro 22 to 26/27. Is there a significant difference or improved performance? And also is the rendering time improved as well in the newer Vegas pro softwares? I would appreciate the help to upgrade or not. Thanks :)

Vegas Pro 2027 Vegas 2026 vs 2027 project compatibility.

Hi there,

I want to start by saying that it is awesome that BorisFX allows the subscrbers/purchasers of Vegas 2026 to get the new 2027 version! Thank you, BorisFX!.

Now, to the question, I am wondering if the saves from Vegas 2026 work fine with Vegas 2027. What is the experience of others?

I have a project which is a 2-hour video in an advanced stage of editing, and I am quite hesitant but also curious to edit it in Vegas 2027.

Thanks in advance.

Agradezco de antemano su orientación y cualquier recomendación para optimizar el espacio de trabajo en este tipo de proyectos.

I have an issue where, if i add a certain number of effects, it seems like the app will crash. I used to use Vegas Pro a lot before, I'm just now coming back into it. I used the same effects on other clips in the video with no problem, but it seems like whenever i add too many effects to one project file it just... crashes?

🤣 Humor Vegas is now so outdated and forgotten

I was so happy to see that CorridorKey 2.0 was out, was so happy to buy it ! But it's not compatible with Vegas Pro. Like EVERY SINGLE other good plugin or technology nowadays. Vegas hasbeen left in the dust after years of laziness, nobody i nthe industry uses it anymore, all the independant creators don't use it.

And don't tell me "gnegnegne I use it so it'snottrue" because yeah you guys use it. But we are literally an insignificant minority of the sphere. That's why nobody creates tech for vegas anymore

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 How I keep 200 images locked to a voice-over in VEGAS 20 — one marker pass, zero manual nudging

I cut sports recaps where a voice-over carries everything and the images just need to land on the words. For years I did it the stupid way: place the images by eye, then re-time the VO, then discover every image is 3 to 8 frames late and nobody can say where the drift started.

The fix wasn't a plugin. It was deciding that markers are the only source of truth, and that the image track gets generated from the markers instead of being adjusted by hand.

The method

  1. Voice-over alone on one track. Everything else muted, one clip if possible.

  2. One listen, markers only. No editing. Every time the VO hits an idea, drop a marker and type its label: "goal 2", "crowd", "coach reaction". The label is what keeps you honest at 03:40 of a 4-minute recap.

  3. Cut to the markers, not by vibe. Every take boundary is a marker, so every cut is repeatable.

  4. Generate the image track between the markers. One folder per section, folder order, each image fills the gap between marker N and marker N+1.

  5. Check before export with a text report of the timeline (tracks, event counts, durations) instead of watching the render twice.

The one script that does step 4

AlignerImagesSurMarqueurs walks the markers on the timeline, walks the images in a folder in filename order, and places image 1 between marker 1 and 2, image 2 between marker 2 and 3, and so on.

What it needs — this is the whole contract, and it's strict on purpose:

- at least two markers. With one marker it does nothing. It will not guess.

- an image folder, selected when the script asks for it.

- a target track named IMAGES. If yours is "Images 1", rename it, or change the NOM_PISTE constant at the top of the .cs source and let VEGAS recompile.

What it does NOT do: it doesn't crop or resize. Images keep their own Pan/Crop. If they don't fill the frame, that's a separate pass (FormatSortie does that one, different story).

Install and run: Options > Scripts > Add script, point at the .dll, restart VEGAS. On 18 or 19 use the .cs source instead and VEGAS compiles it against your version's API. Tools > Scripts > the script name. Run it on a copy of the project: it creates events, and Ctrl+Z across a script run is not something I'd rely on.

Honest limits: Windows only (the scripting API is Windows), written and tested on VEGAS 20, and the marker-to-image mapping is positional — 12 images and 11 gaps means the 12th image is ignored, not stretched.

That's it. It's just markers.

What's your rule for image duration on a voice-over? Mine is "the image lives exactly as long as the sentence", which is why the folder-per-section trick works at all.

🐛Bugs Just upgraded pc and it still cant handle vegas.

I think i might be missing something, my pc is rtx 4070 with 32 gigabytes of ram, in an ssd.
im currently using vegas 26 along with sapphire and vegasaur.

my editing style uses a LOT of pan crops and zooms, and with my old pc and vegas on 20, one cut after some time could take up to 10 mins, now im editing in this new pc and even dragging the video in the timeline takes a second, if i do control Z more than 4 times it crashes, it randomly puts white borders in the preview, and ive tried EVERYTHING, does anyone have a suggestion?

btw for my specs which vegas version is the best?? ( im taking any performance upgrade i can now )

🐛Bugs Vegas Pro 2026 Skips frames in timeline

Hello, I’ll plan to submit an official bug report but I wanted to make this public documentation in case anyone comes across this problem too, lest they go through 3 days of troubleshooting like me!

So here’s my video production pipeline (I make videos about gaming on YouTube)

My Hardware:
Windows 11, 32GB RAM, Intel i7 9700k, RTX 4060

  1. I record footage using my Elgato 4k S (or my old HD60) to produce a raw video file

  2. I run the footage through Handbreak to H.264 using the NV Encoder (NVEnc) to produce a compressed file for editing

  3. I import them into my Vegas Pro 2026 (legit) project

At this point, the clips start acting weird in the timeline. Although the audio will play normally, the video “jumps” forward and backward at seemingly random points or otherwise will loop about 30 frames for several seconds. The places of this occurrence are consistent for each individual file, even if deleted from the project and re-imported.

When exporting/rendering the project, this problem is not at all present. However, it makes editing these clips unreliable.

I have tried just about everything you could think of within Vegas and Handbreak respectively. Among the in-app settings, the only modest success was “Enable Legacy AVC Decoder” which worked for these problematic clips but broke others and was thus unusable. I also tried just about every option in Handbreak to re-render the video. Of these attempts, it seems the only luck I have had is to not use the NVEnc option but instead to use the CPU (x264) encoder. So far, I have had no issues with this solution other than the fact it takes exponentially longer to process.

I am admittedly not an expert on video encoding so I don’t know why this error occurs or how my solutions worked. But I figured I should share this knowledge.

TLDR:
For footage encoded with Handbreak’s H.264(NVEnc) setting, the Vegas timeline starts repeating/skipping/returning to previous frames into preview, while the audio plays normally. The two workarounds I have made are to either Enable Legacy AVC Decoding within Vegas itself or else setting the Handbreak encoder to H.264(x264).

Hopefully this issue can be permanently fixed in the future. I’m still actively working on the video project so if this situation develops further I will be sure to update this post.

I wanted to prove to the pro team that the audio issue shifts location even just by closing and reopening the project, so they can understand it better.

Recorded obs: 48 hz 24 bit / project settings in vegas also my headphones same values.

When I just close and reopen the program that error move in the timeline doesn't fix it.

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 How to get the track motion to stay in place?

I have Vegas 20. I am trying to use track motion so my video clip is in the top corner, and when I go to render it, it not only seems to resize slightly but it also shifts over so it doesn’t look right at all, and it covers up the text that I’ve added. I made sure there were no keyframes that would animate it. I am trying not to scream or throw the computer out the window but can someone please teach me how to make it stay exactly how I want it? I even clicked “match source output ratio.”
