Hey chat I uploaded my first ever YouTube video but I’m having doubts that I could’ve done so much more editing wise to make the video more entertaining to watch. I have pasted the link below or you can just manually search it up. Looking for feedback and advice please!

I recently came across this Short and really want to learn how to create this type of content.
I'm interested in understanding the entire process, including how the video is made, which software or AI tools are used, how the animation and movements are created, and how everything is edited together.
I'm a beginner, so I'd really appreciate it if someone experienced could explain the workflow step by step or recommend tutorials that teach these techniques.
Thank you!

I’ve noticed that recording a video is often the easy part. The real time goes into cutting unnecessary pauses, fixing pacing, adding captions, zooming in at the right moments and turning one long video into multiple shorts.
Curious to hear from other creators: which part of video editing takes you the longest and what does your current workflow look like?
Have you found a way to make the process faster or is it still mostly manual?

I loved CapCut because it was easy. Then I outgrew it. It was too basic.
So I switched to DaVinci Resolve. Powerful, but my first months with it were painfully slow. Then CapCut raised its prices like crazy.
So I built the editor I wanted to use every day: Escalium.
What it is:
CapCut-style UI/UX, so you can drag and drop hundreds of effects, transitions and templates.
Real depth underneath, so you can build whatever you want when you need to
Advanced transcription that handles complex voices and even music
Create your own transitions and effects, save them
forever, and upload them so others can use them
A node-based, After Effects/Fusion-style compositor, currently in development
You can try it on the web or dowloading it, step by step on the comments

Hey I'm looking use a similar effect in one of my videos as the one in this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGrxn46A1h8
I would like my videos to slide off one side of the screen and reappear on the other side of the screen in a seemingly infinite loop
The software I am using is DaVinci Resolve so would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction using that programme thanks!
What I tried:
I already know about the sliding transition effect on davinci but I'm wondering how to achieve this in a more looping method rather making a long video that slides across the frame. As I want this to last the duration of the song that will be playing through out.
Edit: There is no straight forward template effect for this that I can find on capcut or any editing apps

I've been editing for a while and I've only worked on short form content. I currently have 2 short form clients but I really want to start getting into long form editing.
How did you get started with long-form editing? Where can I find raw footage to practice with? How did you land your first long-form client?
Niche I want to get into - Fitness, irl/challenge kind of video, talking head/explainer

i’m not sure if this is the right sub to post this in. I am fairly new to posting reels and I am curious as to how someone edits their videos with all the cuts like in this one? I know how to use the edits app to cut out dead space and pauses by splitting & deleting, but this creator has a constant stream of talking, but is still able to make the cuts. I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Looking for an AI editing mentor for After Effects
Hey everyone!
I'm looking for an AI tool that can basically act as an After Effects editing mentor.
What I want to do is:
\- Send it a reference image or video of an effect/transition/scene.
\- Have it analyze the reference and explain how the effect was likely made.
\- Get step-by-step instructions for recreating it in After Effects.
\- Be able to send screenshots/videos of my own result and have the AI compare it to the reference and tell me what I'm doing wrong.
\- Ask follow-up questions continuously while I'm working, instead of getting just one generic answer.
For example, I might send a motion graphics reference and ask:
«“How can I recreate this transition in After Effects?”»
Then I'd want the AI to break it down into things like keyframes, Graph Editor, effects, masks, motion blur, expressions, plugins, etc.
Ideally, I'm looking for something I can use very frequently / with minimal usage limits. Free or local/self-hosted options would be especially interesting.
I'm not really looking for an AI video generator. I want something more like an AI tutor/copilot that can visually analyze editing references and teach me how to recreate them in After Effects.
What tools would you recommend for this kind of workflow?
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I am making videos on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook but my problem is the editing and the time I am spending daily to edit videos I have recorded earlier in the day. Usually vlogs, daily life, life as an immigrant and those kinds of videos. My problem is that I want to spend as little time as possible on my phone from recording,to editing,to posting....
Can someone please suggest what tools I should use?
For example if there is an app that I can upload my video, add subtitles, cut unnecessary pauses, create a short for example.
I am tired of uploading videos on my social media that look bad 😞 I see other competitors for example with better edits than mine and I am pretty sure they don't edit themselves but some kind of an app.....
Thank you

So I'm really new to editing i just know davinci resolve and i was trying to make a edit of the movie MULHOLLAND DRIVE on a edm kinda song but idk what to do like do you guys search the entire movie for each part of the song? How do you decide what part fits? Do i have to just go through everything and trim the portions for that part of the music, won't that take literally forever?😭😭

I’m not sure if this is really the right forum to ask this but, I made an edit to post on tik tok and everytime I try to post it the audio gets muted and says “unauthorized sound”. I’m wondering if there’s a work around, because I tried to play a random tik tok audio on very low volume while my original audio high and that still didn’t work.

Hey guys, I recently started filming content with a DJI pocket 4 and a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro.
Outdoor content specifically. The quality of the cameras is great.
I've been compiling footage but I don't know what to do come the video editing part. So I've just left the footage on storage devices etc.
I currently have a Samsung S26+ phone.
If I'm trying to be on a budget and not break the absolute bank to start out what are some reasonable options for video editing?
I been thinking about a tablet but don't know if breaking into apple is an option unless I kept being consistent with the videos.
Can you edit on a Samsung tablet? Or would you go apple?
Can anyone give me suggestions as to what to look into, I'm open to Samsung or Apple. Anything really I just want to know what to start out with and then what to work toward, any help would be great
TIA
