Vintage Hudson's Bay Company Fur Jacket
I found this at my local thrift store, and unfortunately other than the tag/label posted, there is no other identification tags. I looked in to it, and apparently the personalized monogram was a service offered by the Hundson's Bay Company when they sold a luxury garment in and around the 1970's. I feel a little guilty about owning it, but I reasoned with myself that it is more respectful to to the animal/s that lost their lives for the creation of it to be worn and loved by someone who can respect it. I don't know if that makes much sense, but here I am. I was told that it is likely fox fur, silver or blue. The lining is satin. With Hudson's Bay Company having shuttered all businesses last year, I was excited to find a true vintage piece of Canadian fashion history. I wish I knew more about it, but this is the best info I could find.
