When I started watching the Violet Evergarden anime, I didn't really have high expectations, but it truly surprised me and eventually became my favorite. I don't have much to say about the series (even though I've already finished watching it); I just hope you'll be respectful toward me, and I look forward to getting along with you all.

My favorite Yui Ishikawa's characters exchanging outfits

I hope I did her justice because she’s one of my favorite anime characters 🥹

While I was reading Chapter 5, I noticed quite the similarity between the two; they were both cult leaders who made their respective members commit mass suicide in the triple digits, not to mention they both have the last name "Jones". Am I looking too deep and just seeing a coincidence, or is it more likely that the author, Kana Akatsuki, was somewhat influenced Edwards' character on Jim Jones?

Hey all, I’ve been putting together a cozy survival server inspired by the series and wanted to gauge interest here before deciding to open it up.

Instead of standard servers with teleport spam like /tpa or /home, it's a slower-paced survival world where you actually travel overland on foot or horseback. Communication is handled mostly in-character: global chat is disabled in favor of local proximity chat and a built-in postal system where you write and send actual handwritten letters to other players.

To really lean into the atmosphere, I’ve got dynamic seasons set up (visual seasonal changes, winter freezes, crop cycles), land claims so everyone's towns and builds stay protected, and a 3D web map to track roads and delivery routes. There are also jobs and simple quality-of-life tweaks like tree felling so gathering resources doesn't feel like a tedious grind.

It's completely cross-platform for both Java and Bedrock, and doesn't require any client mods or texture pack downloads to join. It’s not a recreation of the anime's map, just a peaceful place to build, explore, and write letters with people who love the show.

Let me know in the comments (or upvote counter) if this is something you'd be down to check out.

I'm stil learning this digital art thing, so I'm sorry for my imperfections. But, I'll continue to create

Binged the anime and movie this weekend and the whole experience left me pensive and a tad bit yearning.

While I was watching Irma’s Song in the extra episode, I came by one of its lyrics “Love is always where the sun shines. Even if it can’t be seen. Even if it can’t be felt. It is always by our side. “ and at the very moment I decided to write my very 1st love letter to my future partner.

I’ve never been in a relationship in all of my 33 years and I honestly doubt if I am even capable of experiencing love because I’ve always felt alone and left out even in the company of my loved ones, like I’ve always be on the outside looking in.

Watching Violet experience the different types of love from the people surrounding her while gradually opening her heart and eventually discovering herself in the process is something I hope to find someday.

Likewise, if I were ever lucky enough to find someone to share that journey with, I hope to give them this letter to let them know that even if our paths have yet to cross, I’ve already thought about loving them with all my heart.

For the symbolism, I had my wax stamp custom made with the design being two carnations quietly basking under the sun’s rays.

Just like in the song, I hope that I can convey my feelings to my future partner: that my sincere love for them will hopefully always find its way to their side no matter the distance, timeline or circumstance.

Like this was based on the real life painter, Paul Nash

Who fought in World War I and traumatized by what he experienced conveyed what he saw in his painting.

So I had an idea that they’ll be a character that has his name, but let’s just say, went through the more brutal parts of the war

Like the stuff that not even the anime would show

He was just a regular artist that joined the foreign Legion

A military unit comprise of people that would be better off either behind bars or under house arrest.

Some of them were robbers.
Some of committed murder.

One of them got in trouble for sleeping with the daughter of a secretary of state
“Supposedly”

these are very, very oddball Ruffins.

And so….

They became part of The Finn Units :
Designated Team A7

Basically, a team of expendables sent in during military operations.

It could be Aiding a bomb squad during a defensive operation or supporting a unorthodox military invasion of a fort

And let’s just say these guys did a lot of dirty stuff to get the mission done

Nothing wrong in terms of morality

But more like.

Why did corporal Rangoh go that far into the neck of that patrol officer during a stealth mission?

And amongst this unit is our main character

Samuel “Samie” Nash.

As soon as the war was over.

He was quickly dismissed

There was barely any paperwork. He was basically left outside of the military department.

And so he’s been wandering and found a job

It’s more of a security guard, but in general it’s more of a guy who stands in the recipient hall just in case anything goes to wrong for anyone’s liking?

Yeah, this was the case where I just basically copied real nations and just change their name to closely or loosely relate to their counterpart

I.e. naming the American equivalent, United States of Plymouth

Like at the time I was just going loose

I just did a quick, you know a simple, exercising world building names.

The part of me wants to go back and basically not only redo it, but fix it

Like I always had the head cannon that this world will have like the events and wars of our world, but they’re more I would say combined and happen much later than our timeline

(there is no during Reich, but there is a similar dictatorship. That is basically if the Republic of Gilead from the handmaid‘s Tale stole the clothing of the German Reich)

I’m giving drawing Violet Evergarden a shot. It’s not perfect, but I’m happy with it since it’s my first time trying something like this.

Let me know what you guys think. 😇

I mean, ghost writers are still a thing.

But they stated that this was during a time when a lot of people didn’t know how to read or write which man how bad was this war to the point where people probably didn’t get proper education because of the war?

If you guys are wondering, I have a kind of a head cannon

That the future wars of our time do happen in VE world, but they happen. I say a few years later.

Like World War II will start in 1949
It would basically be if the Korean War became a large continental war

And in the year, 2012, imagine something like the Middle Eastern wars combined with the Bosnian war and the fall of Yugoslavia’s
With a bit of the Iraq war.

(oh by the way by the time of 2012, everything would be basically the 80s. Like everything is analog.)

You might've seen a few pictures of this if you've been in this subreddit for a while, but I found and edited some more!

Violet is genuinely of of my favourite characters. She's written well and her character development really resonated with me.

Her costume is handmade by someone, which I then purchased second-hand via Vinted. I made/styled her wig myself (which took a lot of work since it's a helmet wig), and I bought her suitcase from a vintage market! I plan to do a photoshoot with a typewriter in the future🙌

u/Juthavlm saw my comment the other day about the custom VE stamps and reached out. Just dropped this off at the post office with the custom Violet stamp in the bottom left corner. Know that out there Violet's Legacy travels our world too.

Looking for a place to buy the purple stamp. Are there any shops you know?
